I''m a hardcore democrat...but McCain''s comments about Gustav brought tears to my eyes. In situations like this it doesn''t matter what political party you belong to as long as everyone is safe. It''s very important that we come together as Americans - not as a Democrat or a Republican - to ensure the safety of all of us who are in the path of danger. Lives can never be replaced no matter how strongly we feel about a certain cause and I really feel that''s what''s holding this country together at the moment.
Bravo John McCain from a diehard Democrat. Your words have really touched me today.

Georigia has a little rain right now on the estern side with most over the alantic. Not fron the storm. What you might get are twisters just like littlerock. They are even showing rain for next weekend up here from the storm and thats near Canada. We might get 1/2 an inch and a little wind but nothing like its going to be on the southern coast. It will move up the east coast as most do.

Would you put your money on a million dollar a day casino or a $-50 a day on a cardboard box that shoots people? Think what your working with down there. Texas has to be one of the biggest fools down there. The first time their crime rate went over the moon. Casions are private, ditches in the mud are not.

"Any such move would be a dramatic escalation of the Georgia crisis and play havoc with the oil markets."

So who cares
You have a nasty habit of not staying topic with so few hours to go. Go hide in your basement or cardboard box it you even have one and take your BS with you

Sorry to disappoint you, global warming gloom and doomers. The predicted monster storm didn''t materialize at "The Loop."

This one seems topped out at category 3. No doubt, it will still overwhelm the inadequate levees around New Orleans, and that city will be under water again from the heavy rains and the storm surge. But then, a heavy thunderstorm could have the same effect.

But that problem is due to decades of being more focused on building casinos than on building levees. You can''t blame that on global warming, can you.

This is serious business. I think people got the message this time. I hope so. Best to everyone in Gustav''''s path. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Yes, hats off to Nagin for the magnificent response that he SHOULD have had back when there REALLY WAS a category 5 monster storm headed toward his city.

Well, I hope he will feel vindicated that THIS TIME, with a cat 3 storm approaching, he can pretend he COULD have done a good job when it was really needed.

BTW - where''s the credit to Bush for doing such a good job this time around? Everyone was so quick to blame him last time, but when the kudos are going out his name doesn''t seem to come up.

Russia may cut off oil flow to the West
Telegraph.co.uk (29 Aug 2008)
Fears are mounting that Russia may restrict oil deliveries to Western Europe over coming days, in response to the threat of EU sanctions and Nato naval actions in the Black Sea. Any such move would be a dramatic escalation of the Georgia crisis and play havoc with the oil markets.

Keep it over land so it can not regrow. While this wont happen what if it took a sharp lefthand turn on it way to Califorina. It would water many states in neeed of rain for crops but give Califorina a much needed heavy rainfall not as much ror crops but to slow down their forest fire season
