lochlan confessed:
"I guess so. I grew up on a farm and killed many animals, (rabbits, ducks, turkeys, etc.). I''''ve also murdered many innocent creatures for no reason at all except that they annoyed me (mosquitos, spiders, snakes)."

Well, it is obvious why you feel sorry for this guy.

Got any worry for the kid ? A 7-year old girl being "taught to kill" ? Forced to kill with her own hand ? Forced to kill a beloved pet ? Forced to kill a beloved pet in a cruel and painful manner ?

Sheesh. Where is your concern for this child ? She will be haunted by this experience her whole life. This is child abuse.

I wonder what the mother is like ? After all, she married this whacko.

Look around and tell me what "mankind first" has done to the earth.

It has evolved to a level that people like you have no idea. The things we are understanding now put us at a level no animal has ever achieved. Right or wrong is decided as we go, based on what we know, and the rules are written accordingly.

I sure hope none of you here have murdered some innocent mouse or other life form, and not turned yourselves in. I will be eagerly waiting to see what a year out of life with your family does to your opinion. I sure hope you aren''t the kind of people who teach your children to rip tomatoes, or squash from the limbs of poor defensless plants. You people are sick. To jail with you.

I think this sentence is to harsh and quite excessive. A therapist could have easily taken care of this situation. You people are the crowd around the guillotine. The reason we have the insane number of laws and restrictions with 1 in 100 people now being incarcerated. You''ve lost all common sense, and are as wreckless as this man when it comes to making logical decisions.

I agree with RLVall, he needs to be removed from the home and not allowed to have unsupervised visits with the children. The comments that the children made about "teaching them to kill" shows that he has a sick mind and is not necessarily "under the influence" of whatever. The state should exercise their right to remove the kids from his home when he gets out of prison, but sadly I am sure they won''t and one of them will end up murdered, like the cat.

""I''''m wondering HOW he forced her. There is nothing that my dad, or anyone else for that matter, could have done to make me kill an animal.""

erasmus81, That''s nice that your dad couldnt get you to do that. What does that have to do with this article. You need to apply some comprehension and understanding. perhaps open that small mind of yours and let a new perspective in. And toss out the conspiracy theory ("...HOW he forcred her").

Here''s a quote that might help, from someone you likely adore
"opened mind for a different view" Metallica

This is so incredibly shocking it''s hard to believe. What kind of person does it take to make his own children do this?!? This "father" needs to be removed from the home and not see his children again. If he makes them kill the family pet, what''s next? Their mother?

"he forced his 7-year-old daughter to kill the family cat by holding a knife in her hand and making her stab the pet."

I''m wondering HOW he forced her. There is nothing that my dad, or anyone else for that matter, could have done to make me kill an animal. NOTHING. I would die first. The only way would be if he put the knife in my hand and actually held it there while HE did the stabbing.

Who was he going to use next? Yesterday''s lesson on killing: the family cat . . today''s lesson: the neighbor. Glad he''ll be locked up. Those kids are probably scarred for life. We''ll see in about 10 years whether or not they appear on the news.

Love to hear why you think your ugly cat/dog message was funny. Yes, do tell us just why you think animal cruelty is a joke. Just please tell a psychiatrist too.

"This man had a "justifiable reason" just not one excepted by a society of people who have different values for different animals for personal reasons. My views are for mankind first, your views are different."

I am sure a psychiatrist would be interested in hearing your personal reasons as to why this man had a justifiable reasons.

Do post that here. We are all eyes...

I liked the cat joke better. Anyone that didn''t take it as a joke. have ceral issues I think. obody on these boards are going to be younger than 16 or 17 at the youngest. And that age group knows a joke when they read one. Don''t you think?

It''''s obvious that that the cat was obtained for a pet and not for food. Killing without justifiable reason is wrong."

It also depends on the creature at hand, since rodents and other forms of life don''t qualify as pet or food. It all depends on the Social standing of the animal. This man had a "justifiable reason" just not one excepted by a society of people who have different values for different animals for personal reasons. My views are for mankind first, your views are different.

This is America, I think.
