- The Constitution may act to prevent abuse, but the powers of this President during a State of Emergency are incredible. People can yell constitution all they want. Unless they are ready to take up arms, they had better be prepared to whisper rather than yell for their rights. The Constitution is only as strong as those willing to defend it.

While the scenario is extreme, once a State of Emergency is declared, all those lovely documents that have been inacted become active and we have no rights. Voting can be suspended and lots of other nasty little things.
