- Why else would anyone in their right mind seek to become the mayor of a "city" like Detroit unless it was to plunder city $$$ for your personal entertainment. Basically, all you have to do is promise your constituents that you will work to keep the welfare checks and food stamps flowing and you''re in for life.

I am not from Detroit , but it strikes me that this is a politically motivated plea bargain and not a full satisfaction of need for the mayor.
The Detroit voters put this man in office. They deserve for the mayor to have a day in court and they also deserve that he should not just be able to give up his job if he has committed a wrong.
Imagine the bus driver asked to give up his job for assault. It just would not happen.- Reply to this comment
- Were he a white guy without any money, they would lock him up and throw away the key. Why should the mayor, who is black be treated any differently than a poor white guy. A thug is a thug, regardless of their education, social rank or color of their skin.

- KK is a disgrace to Michigan. The Gov still backs him and won''t do anything. Were he a Republican, the media would have hung him on a cross by now. Yep, he is black, a thug and thinks he is above the law. The taxpayers of Michigan are supporting this thug. He will go to Denver and see the second coming of the Christ or as some people say, BO. He will get a pardon if he is convicted, the Gov just has to wait until that happens.
