patriot12436, in my opinion, Bragging about ones accomplishments is demeaning to ones own character. I notice you don%u2019t share that opinion.

Have a nice day.

Without knowing all the facts of the case and where this pivotal stop sign is located. I have never seen a pivotal stop sign, but i did not work the St Louis area. I am not disputing what you are saying at all. I would have reccommended taking a picture with a camera that places date and time on the picture of the sign, assuming you had one, taken it to court and shown the judge. A reasonable judge would have thrown it out, some judges would have said tough and fined you. I agree the system doesn''t always work, but i always tried to give the individual the benefit of the doubt before writing a ticket.

In Missouri it is illegal for an officer to hide from view to write tickets. I am sure some did but not the highway patrol

If parking their police cars off the highway, often in ditches or on side roads, is not hiding from view, then what is?
Missouri state patrol does this consistently?

I lived and worked in St. Louis Missouri for many years.
I remember being given a ticket in St. Louis, for running a stop sign (I was making a right turn), by a cop who had at least three other officers with him.

The stop sign in question was pivotal; and used (turned toward oncoming traffic) ONLY at a specified time during the day.
The effective time was also posted for the convenience of motorists.

The time for this particular sign to be turned away from traffic was ten minutes BEFORE I was pulled over. I pointed out the time issue to the officer But he said it didn%u2019t matter that I had not made a complete stop before turning and that the sign had not yet been turned.

Knowing that the sign had indeed been turned, I asked the officer to walk the 100 or so feet back to see for himself, but he refused and told me to take it up with the judge.
I did walk back myself just to make sure and of course it was turned away from traffic. This, to me, was/is proof positive that police officers, even in Missouri, definitely do write bogus tickets. The reasons can be varied.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Scott Nugent and his family during this tragic unravelling of what we call a justice system.

Scott, I hope you beat this rap, get your job and your taser back, and get back out there ridding our streets of doper thugs!

I can honestly7 say i did try, but i got tired. You don''t say where you live. I hope it is a better place. I moved from SA to Bangkok , Thailand and am moving back to Las Vegas 1 Sept. I always liked Vegas when i lived there before. I thought thy had one of the best police departments in the couhntry, but recently i have heard a lot of complaints about the police. I hope they are not true.

I always maintained the standards, but when you arrest the same people daily, and they make bond before you even finish the arrest report, go to court and they laugh because they know how to use the system and the bleeding heart judges let them off, you finally lose faith. We have been trying to help the blacks and clean up crime in the black neighborhoods and it never gets any better. We had a project in Kansas City that was ran down, the city bulldozed it and built all new housing and gave it back to section 8. In two yeasrs it looked exactly like it had before they rebuilt it. I have decided i am tired of seeing my tax dollars wasted on a hopeless project.
