Comments on: Elizabeth Edwards In Anguish After Affair
Friend, Brother Say Her Cancer Diagnosis Forced Her To Decide Whether To Leave Husband
- Mrs. Edwards is a courageous woman and she''s absolutely right. If she forgives him and is willing to move on, so should we. It isn''t any of our business what anyone does in their personal life. Do you think you should be FIRED from your job for having an affair? With the divorce rate at 50% plus in this country (and affairs account for a LARGE portion of break ups) there are a LOT of hypocrites out there crying foul.
Edwards having an affair is disgusting and unseemly. But he apologized to the woman he hurt, she''s forgiven him. At least he didn''t LEAVE her high and dry, like Newt Gingrich did, serving his wife divorce papers in her hospital bed.
Affairs are personal matters. We shouldn''t be prying into people''s beds all the time. The "Natioinal Enquirer" should not be the trusted source of information pertinent to our nation. - Reply to this comment
- The whole thing is tragic and should have been between Edwards and Elizabeth but in this era of 24/7 news that loves sensationalism especially *** more than anything else. Posted by nmrosen
Yes, it is tragic that a man would have to feed his ego and l*ib*ido while the so-called love of his life fought cancer. But I don''t understand why most people don''t get it that it isn''t just between him and his wife. A public figure, who''s scr*wing around with other women, and who doesn''t want anyone to find out is OPEN for blackmail by any individual or group who happens to find out and threaten revelation. Common sense tell you that politicians must be held to a higher standard -- if only for the fact their mistakes might be used against the very people they''re elected to represent.
Edwards is a human cockroach; and his tart, Rielle, is even lower. People are always talking about sins of the father; what about sins of the mother? I think she needs to go on Maury. - Reply to this comment
- I think we are all missing the big point. John Edwards cheated on his wife that is bad enough but then add to it the fact that she is battling for her life and that makes it worse plus that he is running for President and hince even worse. I think we have to hold our politicans to a higher standard no matter who they are! But of course she is going to stay how much is he worth???? And that great big old house too??? People money talks!

- Everyone relax. The human condition is what drives people to cheat on their spouses. The temptation of the flesh is one of the hardest to turn away from. It''s really very funny, or maybe sad, to think that so many people on these boards actually fight about republican infidelity vs. democrat infidelity.

- Jack reads to her an hour a day as part of his home-schooling," Anania told People. "The world is whizzing around her and she''s cool as a cucumber, saying, ''Jack just started, can I call you back?'' "

- So while we are at it: Let''s talk about ALL the Republicans who have cheated McCain by his own admission being one of them. So many others and the sordidness including online *** with young male pages by a male congressman from Florida come to mind. Oh yes, there is always the "wide stance" and lest I forget the hooker *** by another Republican from Floria. Add Newt to that list. The list goes on. God knows how many others. Hypocrites all.

- You have got to be kidding. In my last email I used the word to describe the issue at hand beginning with S and ending with X and you felt you had to censor THAT. Brother we really are in BAD shape!!

- The whole thing is tragic and should have been between Edwards and Elizabeth but in this era of 24/7 news that loves sensationalism especially *** more than anything else. So many important issues to discuss that the American psyhe has a hard time understanding or simply does not want to. So *** is easy to figure out. While Edward''s behavior is less than exemplary I still believe that man 2000 years ago had it right. Let he who has not sinned cast the first stone!

- "Colmes: Excuse me Sean. You%u2019ve had your chance to speak, I%u2019m up. John McCain cheated on his wife, right. Amanda? So how do we trust John McCain?

john wasnt running for president. and there were already problems in the marriage... they were only technically married.
and johns wife was not dying of cancer.
and edwards had not just come back from a war and making adjustments of 5 years of pure hell.

Fenner, you can spin it the way you want to, but John McCain did the exact same thing. And, his wife wasn''t dying from cancer, but she waited for him all that time he was a POW and had a horrible car accident and he repayed her by cheating with the rich floosy.
However you want to look at it, if John Edwards is guilty, John McCain is guilty TOO. - Reply to this comment
- John Edwards is a private citizen who is no longer running for any office. Yet, the media is engaged in absolute feeding frenzy over his 2006 infidelities which did not result in the breakup of his marriage.
Does anyone else think this is strange?

This is classic neo-con trickery, give minimum coverage to Republican cheating, corruption, looting and lying. But blitz the airwaves with inconsequential Democrat mischief.
At the same time berate the press corps as liberals and commies, while the bigwig corporations in the media control most of the garbage that is being put out for public viewing.
This is why the American media has literally no credibility in the world. - Reply to this comment
