I also do not believe that we are carnivores.. not by evolution, but by choice.

The mandibular canine is the tooth located distally (away from the midline of the face) from both mandibular lateral incisors of the mouth but mesially (toward the midline of the face) from both mandibular first premolars. Both the maxillary and mandibular canines are called the "cornerstone" of the mouth because they are all located three teeth away from the midline, and separate the premolars from the incisors. The location of the canines reflect their dual function as they complement both the premolars and incisors during mastication, commonly known as chewing. Nonetheless, the most common action of the canines is tearing of food. There is a single cusp on canines, and they resemble the prehensile teeth found in carnivorous animals.

I am just curious. Do these people who protest the animal research clinics also feel the same about doctors who rip unborn babies from a human''''s womb?

Termination of life is not friendly.
If I were to pour acid in your 7 year old daughter''s eyes I''m sure that would not be acceptable science.
Why should it be different for animals?

"mainedoggie, do you eat the entire plant that you chop up for your meals? Do you eat the roots? The leaves? The flowers? What makes you think that we, as carnivore''''s must eat the brains of a cow to justify eating the cow? A doesn''''t result in B. At some point, most products being developed must be tested on animals to guage the results. It tests aren''''t exhaustive, the lawyers jump on it and we all suffer."

Well, you are implying that we are carnivores, but yes, I think we should (as Americans) follow what the French have done for centuries, and that is, if you are going to kill an animal, than you should eat all of it. No exceptions.
I also do not believe that we are carnivores.. not by evolution, but by choice.

"The attacks came four days after police obtained threatening animal rights pamphlets left at a Santa Cruz coffeehouse containing the names and home addresses of UC Santa Cruz scientists."

So, essentially they were waiting for this to happen. And with that said, the rest of the article is bunk, fabricated to expectaction, as the police force did nothing about it.

Smells like a conservative smear job to me.

Next story.

Cowards.

If most animal rights activists had the courage of their convictions, they''''d be getting in the faces of the patrons at biker bars for wearing leather.

It is not about what you eat, it is about the abuse, the tests. If there is abuse in what you eat (e.g. treatment of mass amounts of chickens) then that is a factor. If we kill a cow, will you eat the cows brains? If not, reconsider.

I''m just sayin

LOL, ain''t that the truth?! Anytime someone tries to express a different point of view, republicans scream like a pig stuck in mud! It''s like poking a hornets nest--they go totally postal!

If I had a pair of wishes, I would wish that Jerry Vlasak of the ALF got diabetes, and the female founder of PETA needed a transplant... because the medical procedures for treating diabetes and conducting transplants were developed through animal research, they should be denied treatment and allow nature to takes it''''s painful course.

A fellow physician in MO always asks his patients if they are members of PETA to inform them that the procedure they require was developed by testing/research on thousands of animals... his hope is that they will refuse the treatment and die... but, the hypocrites never do... they want the treatment. That says it all.

I am truly sorry for you. What is it that makes you more important than some other form of life?
Why must another form of life suffer so that you might be better?
Please explain.
