Working as a ''trusty'' is NOT like parole. You still go back to jail when the job you''re working is over. PLUS you have armed guards watching you at all times. You''re not allowed to leave their presence for any reason. Now, how it THAT like parole? Parole, you go where you want, live where you want, shop alone, work alone, relax alone in a place that is NOT a prison cell. You call or visit your parole officer at regular intervals. You''re not guarded by anyone armed, and you don''t have to ask to take a leak. Try to get YOUR facts straight, too.

Another human interest story - they never present all the pertinent facts. SO talk if you want, but dont generate hate - it serves no good purpose.

A couple of points to expand the discussion around:

How do people change in 19 years? Or do they at all?

If building a garden shed does not make you a carpenter, why does killing one person make you a murderer?

If he was not in jail anyhow (working as a trusty - like being on parole)why shouldnt they release him? Why should they release him?

What makes you think that this killer will stay in MS? It would be more likely for him to move where he is less known and can find another woman to batter then eventually kill--and he probably learned more tricks in prison for how to do that effectively.

I live in Mississippi and our justice system is sick.I have a son who has spent alot of time in prison for escape.(he was on house arrest and went to florida for 2 days)And people in our state who murders
someone lots of times actually walk free.....

Sounds like the governor and the trustee had some interesting conversations.

I worked as a Police and Fire dispatcher in IL for 10 yrs. We arrested a man who had committed a brutal attack on the night clerk of a local hotel with a tire iron fracturing her scull and arms as she tried to defend herself. He was later apprehended and tried to struggle the gun away from a officer on a traffic stop, he fled and was finally apprehended again. When running a background check on him it was discovered that he had served only 7 years for murdering his wife and was working as a janitor at Argonne National Labs, a government facility when he was arrested. They either failed to do a background check or hired him anyway. Sad that women''s lives seem to be worth so little to so many, esp politicians. Now a local police officer is suspected of murdering not one but two of his wives, his 3rd wife whom he divorced and was found dead in a empty bathtub and his 4th wife has been missing for about 10 months now. Strange huh? There was another wife that disappeared in a Plainfield, IL and she has never been found either but have no evidence to convict her husband but it''s a given he most likely killed her. On the day when they were searching the wooded area''s he didn''t bother to join in the search. Nice guy huh, and this was the mother of his children.

This Governor is obviously a very sick man, and harbors much hate towards women. I think he feels woman deserve to be killed by their husbands, because he feels it always the womans fault. This man should not be Gov. of any state! AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE IMMEDIATELY, IF NOT SOONER! THIS SITUATION SHOULD NOT GO UNCHECKED'' GOVERNORS LIKE THIS ARE DANGEROUS TO OUR COUNTRY.
