Comments on: Bush Inks Massive Mortgage Relief Bill
Legislation Intended As Lifeline For Struggling Homeowners And Shaky Financial Markets
- Bush is hot to trot to sign the bill designed to bail out Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because the majority of the stock is not owned by Americans, but by THE SAUDIS AND THE CHINESE. Otherwise, he would not care who loses what or where they go, frankly.

- I heard Bush signed the bill in private -- with only his imaginary friend present.

- If the president has an IQ of 125 why is the country in a state of minus in every category? I would say he had the questions answered before the test took place. Every thing about this guy is in question. And now 25 billion to bail out a fake housing market?

You wrongly assume Americans are idiots about why Congress cannot act with the Filibuster and Veto powers in the U.S. Constitution. - Reply to this comment

"U.S. treasury receipts are at an all-time high. CUT SPENDING. your nonthought tax increases will further damage the economy."
U.S. Treasury Receipts grows due to the natural growth in population which is 20 millions in the last 8 years. Please try another fools trick on me. - Reply to this comment
- George Bush NEVER vetoed any spending bill sent up by his GOP controlled Congress.
nada, zippo, not one.
The reason we have "record deficits" is because of George Bush and his GOP controlled Congress.
Only stupid people and war profiteers, including oil companies, support Bush or McCain.

Control Greed in Capitalism and we do not need to throw money down this toilet again in the future.
It is too late by now to stop this down the toilet by doing nothing. - Reply to this comment
- Down the toilet until Americans accept a Tax Increase (Sacrifice) for our nation. Tax Revenues must meet Expenditures.

- If an American is to amount to anything he must rely upon himself, and not upon the State; he must take pride in his own work, instead of sitting idle to envy the luck of others. He must face life with resolute courage, win victory if he can, and accept defeat if he must, without seeking to place on his fellow man a responsibility which is not theirs. - Review of Reviews January 1897 Theodore Roosevelt

The last 3 slogans are great and I agree in principle with them.
However, the reality is that other ''''Factors'''' in Capitalism destroy the Ideals of these slogans. One of these factors is Greed. If we can somehow effectively control Greed, I am for Capitalism all the way. - Reply to this comment
- I love reading posts by leftists saying that this bill was Bush''s and the Neocon''s idea. Yet, it was passed through the DEMOCRATIC controlled Congress, and it was heavily opposed by the conservative Republicans.
That tells you a lot about this bill. It was a primarily DEMOCRATIC bill, not a REPUBLICAN. Democrats are the ones bailing out the corporations. Democrats are the ones bailing out the irresponsible homeowners. Democrats are the one for adding more bills on to the record deficit... NOT BUSH. - Reply to this comment

- There are two reasons for everything, a good reason and a real reason. In this case the spin is to help a small percentage of about to be foreclosed homes the real reason was to bail out Fannie May and that other finance house. It''s the rich protecting the rich. Nothing else.
