- Find me the word God in the Constitution. No? Ever think there was a reason why?

We are not a "Christian" nation, but the foundations were put in place by people with Christian principles, like James Madison. So, now go ahead and put your liberal spin on that. - Reply to this comment
- The God who loves all people but still finds the time to hate homosexuals will smite them.

- Let''em all get married so they can be as miserable as the rest of the country. This might be enough to keep all the attorneys busy so they can''t screw up the rest of our lives with frivolous law suits. We will surely need to set up more courts so the divorces can be handled before they die. Alimony and child support are equal rights too.

- Be careful what you wish for dummies. At the end of the day, you''ll find that marriage ain''t all that fun. Especially if you''re a gay guy. You still have testosterone inside despite how fem you act on the outside. LOL.
I hope all of you decide to move to Massachussetts and will finally leave the rest of us alone. A ***-ual preference should not be so out there in a decent society. Keep it behind closed doors. - Reply to this comment
- I KNOW U LIBERALS HATE THIS, BUT NEVERTHELESS:
Did you know that as you walk up the steps to the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington D.C., near the top of the building there is a row of the world''''''''s law givers? Each one is facing Moses, who is in the middle, holding the Ten Commandments. As you enter the Supreme Court, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door. As you sit inside the courtroom, you will see another display of the Ten Commandments--this one is directly above where the Supreme Court resides.
James Madison, the fourth President--known as %u201CThe Father of Our Constitution,%u201D said,
%u201CWe have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.%u201D - Reply to this comment

- All I can say is that I am very proud and happy to be living in Massahusetts! This state cares for its citizens and gives us all equal rights. What other state allows gay people to marry? What other state has a health care program for every citizen? Massachusetts is the coolest state to live in by far. Again, I am very proud to live in a state that recognizes the right of tax-paying *** to marry.

- ===If the people of Massachusetts could vote, homosexual marriage in Massachusetts would be banned.===

Civil rights are not up to a vote. If people were allowed to vote on slavery in 1865, they would have kept it overwhelmingly. Sometimes, people have to be hauled into the future, kicking and screaming. - Reply to this comment

Both sides of this issue take notice:
As of this moment, there are no Mass. fires, earthquakes, floods or other disasters as in California.
Let the experiment begin. - Reply to this comment
- Gosh, these just sound like horrible people. Together for 25 years and have a son. These are the real people that the bigots harm. Real people with real families that love each other. It is a sick world when people use God as an excuse to hurt people like this.

- Interesting how the media includes the picture of the two dudes in a lip-lock on the front page of their article.....knowing that exposure breeds acceptance of things that were once taboo.
We look and then the next time, it won''''t be so shocking, and the next time, and so on, until this behavior becomes quite the ordinary. Except for one thing.....God has not changed His opinion or His judgement about what this is. He corrects those He loves, just like a parent will correct a child for playing on the freeway because of love.....and it is dangerous to play on the freeway. - Reply to this comment
- DOMA is a piece of s***. A disgusting decision that seeks to enshrine bigotry within quite possibly the most magnificent social experiment of all: the U.S. Constitution and its constituent laws and acts. Since when do religious nut jobs have the right to hijack the American way? Gay marriage is the Pursuit of Happiness for a significant percentage of upstanding, tax-paying, proud and patriotic Americans. Taxation Without Representation is one of the reasons behind the Revolutionary War. Remember? Don''t let the holier-than-thou right wing pull the wool over your eyes in service of their evil, un-Christian, and anti-American agenda.

- "Sometimes what you hope and pray for actually happens, which is kind of overwhelming," Michael Thorne, 55, of Cape Elizabeth, Maine, said after telling his 6-year-old son his parents could soon get married. Thorne and his partner of 25 years, James Theberge, have an Aug. 18 wedding planned in Provincetown.
