- Parents can be held liable for torts their children commit. If the victim''s fiancee needs money to move from that hellhole town, then I''d advise filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the perpetrators and their parents.

- I have lurked on and contributed to these forums for close to two years and have rarely seen such invective hurled as I have seen on this thread. As argumentative as I sometimes get, I have never stooped as low as some of the posters have here. The hatred is palpable. I am, in fact, afraid that some of them are at risk of "going Cho" such is the rage I read into these posts.
The same rage, taken out here on the keyboard, was taken out of that Mexican''s skull by maybe six other people using not words but jackboots, pipes and chains. If ever there was a hate crime this one is it.

Does anyone really think that would have made a Ha''penny''s worth of difference? I am as sure as I am of my own name that he would have been attacked anyway, even if he were a known naturalized citizen or a born American.
It would be interesting to know if any of the accused have a past history of violence and ethnic intimidation.

- Lock them up and throw away the key. These teens are animals. They didn''t even know if he was illegal when they attacked him. They just attacked him because he was Mexican. I''d like to see them try that in east LA.
At any time during the beating any one of those kids could have said "this is too much" and walked away. None did. They don''t deserve to be among decent people. With any luck they all will end up working for a janitorial firm when they get out of jail, scrubbing toilets for a living, with a Mexican supervisor telling them what to do. - Even during the riots of the 60''s when the National Guard was called in ''cause the cops couldn''t handle it nobody gave orders to "shoot to kill". And if there was EVER going to be a "shoot to kill" order against civilians committing a crime, with black rioters & a white National Guard, that''s when it would have happened. Were orders given to shoot looters & rioters, yes, but not "shoot to kill". In fact, most of the ammunition expended was FIRED INTO THE AIR to SCARE the rioters off the streets. "SHOOT TO KILL" mumble-grumble-moron-grumble-mumble. Jeez, it sounds so easy, just "shoot to kill" and all of our troubles will go away. What kind of a nation do you think we are that we should, as official policy, shoot people dead for violating a law. Hey, if it works for "illegals" then it''ll work for DWI, DUI. Oh, I see. Only one small problem. A "shoot to kill" order IS ILLEGAL and an act of murder under the laws of THIS NATION when the order is given to kill civilians who are commiting a crime, which is what illegal immigration is, not an invasion. - Reply to this comment

When the lawful government of a nation makes the choice to defend their borders against invasion and that government issues an order to the organization responsible for insuring the border is not illegally breached (Border Patrol) the deaths which result are done so to protect the sovereignty of that nation. Perhaps an act of war, but not murder as defined by the laws of the nation under invasion.
But, since the ILLEGAL ALIEN INVADERS are in violation of a national law THEY put themselves at risk when THEY make an intentional decision to violate the laws of another nation.

I did not say I advocate murder, I said I don''''t care how they leave as long as they go. I said if our government would issue orders to the people WE PAY to protect our borders from illegal invasion this type of incident would not happen so often. I said the lives of 3 teens are basically ruined. From that, how do you get that I am an advocate for murder? What I am is an advocate for American sovereignty, for LEGAL immigration and for Americans taking back America before it becomes another third world country and gets re-named North Mexico.

I have seen organizations that help poor immigrants so i know it is possible. If not well it is still illegal for him top be here. He was here for six years, married an American woman, had children but did nothing to become a legal immigrant. I am sorry he was killed but it doesn''''t change the fact he was an illegal. We have to support and enforce our laws to protect American citizens. The way these kids chose was totally the wrong way.

You are reading more into the story than is there. I have not read that he did nothing to become legal. Many people get married and try it that way, but that door has been shut and usually the result is to divide the family and leave the woman high and dry for support. Our immigration laws are a joke and discriminate against the very kind of people who built this country. Most of American ancestors arrived here penniless, broke, and had little or nothing.
