Obama8years, have you ever even been to Europe? They have a larger middle class, lower crime rate, and a higher rate of contentment than America does. They are also surpassing the United States in technology. The European economy is putting the United States'' economy to shame. Remember, socialism is not the same as communism.

Keep slurping up that kool-aid. It takes minimum 3 years just to build a new oil platform and another 1-2 years to commission and ramp up production. Ignorance must be bliss.

Given the fact with current technology we can now drill from a single platform 50 times as large a foot print as we could just twenty years ago, you might wish to go back and verify some of your 30 year old Democrat Party greenie weenie talking points.

Democrat congress - 9% approval rating (lowest in American history.) Once word of their lame-assed 3 day releae plan gets out, it should take them down to around 5%.

Keep up the good work, dems. You''''re making it real easy come November.

I actually happen to agree with republicans on this issue. We are going through some tough times right now because of the price of oil. However, the dynamics of the energy market say that this is only the beginning. The oil is reserved for rainy days and the rain is coming down now, but there is a hurricane off on the horizon coming our way. As demand grows and supply dwindles, we could see fuel prices be out of reach of the majority of Americans in the coming decades. When that happens we will have wished we had some fuel on reserve.

Oh my Lord, did Sen. "BothWays" Barak NObama teach you to offer this? If you have no other argument, simply launch a big stinky such as the above general Internet address that covers everything imaginable?

You opponent will walk away in frustration.

How about simply reading the above CBS article and see what Republicans are doing to promote more drilling, vs. what libtards are doing to prevent more drilling.

And, all this talk about how long it will take to produce more oil, I must ask: How much longer do you think it will take if we continue to allow these libtard Democrats to continue protecting big oils profits like they are doing today??

Geez....here''s your sign!

It is simple... all land owned by the US should be open to responsible exploration to meet the needs of our country and such exploration should not be held hostage by anyone for any reason whatsoever.

Everyting I read says the 10 year horizon for new oil from offshore drilling is baloney. It is as little as one year.
Same Dem baloney, different day.

Apparently they already have equipment in the water off California. New oil can be pumped in a year.

Starting from scratch I''ve heard takes a few years. Funny how the media doesn''t run these types of articles. Flaming libs.

What a laugh. See the truth at FactCheck.org

"As for the Outer Continental shelf, more drilling could indeed produce more oil, but not right away. The Energy Information Administration says that there are "substantial resources of crude oil" offshore. However, it also notes that both time and money would be required to produce any oil from areas that are currently off-limits. Specifically, it estimates that no production would begin until 2017 and that it would take until 2030 to reach peak production, increasing total domestic production by 3 percent."

Republicans still expect us to swallow the same old Bushit. 3% will not bring down prices. Who do you think is going to pay to get that oil over the next 20 years or so in higher gas prices? We are.

REAL MEDIA: Dems, why are you going to leave town?
Pelosi: Go away, stop asking me questions.
REAL MEDIA: And you, Senator Reid?
Reid: The Republicans are blocking ALL OF OUR PROPOSALS!!!!
REAL MEDIA: The Republicans say you aren''t allowing a vote on offshore drilling. Is that correct?
Reid: What is wrong with your hearing! I just told you the Republicans are blocking ALL OF OUR
PROPOSALS!!!!
REAL MEDIA: Ms. Pelosi, do you feel blocking offshore drilling will hurt you in the upcoming election?
Pelosi: I TOLD YOU TO GO AWAY AND STOP ASKING ME QUESTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
REAL MEDIA: I think we have our lead story, here.

So what exactly will they do with 700M barrels of oil if they don''''t use it? This is kind of like a man who has $5M, and dies with the exact same $5M, POINTLESS!!!!

Given the above, does anyone doubt nowadays which political party is really in the pockets of big oil? Only a moron could harbor any doubts that it''s not the Democrats.

People, the Republican Party is doing everything they can to force the opening of new leases on very productive oil fields, thus causing supply to rise and prices to drop.

The Democrat Party OTOH is throwing up every road block, using every silly technical trick they can, to block any real supply increase, thus keeping prices high. Big oil is loving the Democrats nowadays, there is no doubt.

Cause big oil is currently making billions on every drop of oil they are extracting from current holes and new holes they are sinking on existing leases.

stn_sage-why how very elitist of you. Your opinion of conservatives is so, shall I say, Berkley. Now, you can take your berkinstocks and shove them, ok.
Read my post on the mega genious idea of the left. Sure, release the reserves. Hey, maybe you can tell this typical white woman just how that would work.
Can''t wait to hear from you.

Excuse me but aren''t the reserves for national emergencies?? So, say another Katrina hits and the offshore drilling has to stop, what then?? There would be an outcry of the misuse of the reserve. It would be like the mortgage crisis created by the likes of chuckie schumer and the rest of the dems.
If rolling back the horrendouse state & fed taxes wouldn''t have helped, if drilling won''t help, just tell me how this would help.
Talk about short term relief!! You people are amazing.
Say, just how would it work, there leemings?? We''ve already paid for the oil, is the government going to give it to our few refineries?? Good Lord, people, THINK, THINK.
For all those who cry facism, just how did Hitler get defeated-HE RAN OUT OF FUEL.
Such idiots, such idiots.
And talk about windfall profits! Do you leemings realize the higher the price of gas goes the more money the feds make?? And just what do they do, NOTHING but collect our money.
Comrades, DRILL, DRILL, DRILL.

I''ve long been claiming, the #1 most libtard member of the US Senate (Sen. "BothWays" Barak NObama)cannot win in the general election, because there are more real Americans who vote than libtards.

It now seems these libtards Nancy Peelosely and Harry "Palms" Reid are doing all they can do to make my prediction come true.

Reps have the momentum on Energy.

Many media websites didn''t even cover this story. It makes the Dems look REALLY, REALLY bad.

Of course, not covering this story makes ABC, CNN, Yahoo, Google, and (to a lesser extent) MSNBC look really, really bad. Their flaming liberal bias shows.

Americans want offshore drilling. And we vote.

What really amazes me, is---with all the problems that Bush and the congressional ''CONS'' have caused---that in this election year, they remain intransigent, uncaring, and unrepentant for their actions! Posted by stn_sage at 09:53 PM : Jul 24, 2008

Well, they have made so much money (billions) by plundering the treasury, pre-emptive wars, Oil speculations etc. they could care less what average Americans think or complain. The only way would be to send them a message this November and freeze their bank accounts then send it back to the treasury.
