Hate to tell you all, but there are g a y s in the military and g a y s in the fire and police service and g a y s in your family and g a y s next door. HIV is brought into the military 20 times more often by "straight" men who have unprotected s e x with prostitutes! And why isn''t anyone concerned about all of the unchecked ADULTERY straight men commit and it''s effect on "MORALE"?? The good ole straight boys have s e x all the time with locals in every port they pull into. Is that okay with the bible thumpers here? What a glorious double-standard. As a 22 year sailor, TRUST me, it''s not the g a y s you need to worry about, you are hideously misinformed if you think any g a y dude is forcing ANYTHING on ANYONE!!!

To YOU, wives of Sailors, of 200 men I knew on a 6 month deployment, easily 180 of them cheated on you!!!

I say all homosexuals go on strike for two days and see what happens. I say all g a y s get out of the military as soon as possible...if the military is short-handed now, just wait. The numbers of criminals and half-wits will be what is protecting your precious rights overseas and at home.

Listen folks, the bottom line here is that all other industrialized nations (Britian, Austrailia, Israel and most of the European countries) allow g ays to serve in the military. So what sort of impact has that had on those militaries.. ZERO! Approximately 12,000 g ays have been discharged from US military duty because of their s exual orientation. Stupid! Just plain stupid!

Aw shucks.... are you trying to get on my good side?
Lots of pork in IOWA, eh?

A Marine was wounded in the head in Iraq, they had to remove 1/3 of his brain. After the surgery he woke up humming "Anchors Away". The surgeons realized he needed further surgery, they then removed another 1/3 of his brain. After surgery he woke up boldly stating, "Be all you can be"!

I''ll have remember that one !!! Good

I served in the USN on Amphibs and we would pick several hundred Marines off North Carolina and head for a 6 month deployment to the Med or South America. I remember liberty calls and the Marine officer turning away you guys because of haircuts. We told them to go to our shop and we gave them haircuts so they could get off the ship....

msgtsteve: people can petition for whatever they want, doesn''t mean that it will be accepted. if you don''t want to pay when homosexuals have AIDS, do you want to pay when Heterosexuals have it? and, as a straight man, i am not forcing any agenda on you.

msgtsteve: first, there is absolutely no evidence anywhere that suggests that the HIV virus is transmitted through saliva, so there goes your theory on the risk of mouth to mouth. Second, any soldier treating another soldier is always required to wear rubber gloves anyway. And third, you can "risk" getting HIV in any type of emergency situation no matter if you''re straight or gay. For those unfortunate to be HIV+, you can live a healthy life (other than the obvious) without EVER getting AIDS. Get it?

To msgtsteve: you sound like a real PIG! You wouldn''t give mouth to mouth to a dying soldier because you knew him to be g ay, or have a g ay treat you in the time of need even if your guts were hanging out? Why would you assume that all g ays have contracted AIDS. That''s pretty bold not to say ludicrous. A soldier''s s exual orientation has nothing to do with either you or their job performance in the military (or anywhere else for that matter). The last thing a g ay soldier would be thinking during training sessions, war or whatever the case may be, would be to jump your bones. Get over yourself (cause I''m sure you''re not that hot anyway) and find yourself a g ay friend. Sounds like you need some education.

While Obana is not really my favorite, I don''''t want him to get killed by Bush death squads.

let''''s learn lessons from Robert Kenedy in 1968''''s killed by R.Nixon and Bhutto in Pakistan killed by G.Bush.

First, congress should not be wasting our tax money debating this issue. I was in the army 44 years ago. Homosexuals were not allowed and the basic reason given was that they posed a security risk. They could be compromised and blackmailed. Don''t ask and don''t tell should never have been passed in the first place. We either allow homosexuals to serve, or we don''t. If we do allow them to serve, I would suggest separate housing, as I''m afraid the straight men could easily become violent towards them. I''ve worked with gay people and got along with them on a professional basis, and I''m sure the military can do the same. Remove the stigma of being gay, and the original objection (security risk) goes away. Message to congress: ***** or get off the pot, then go do something constructive for a change!

payasyougo: i can appreciate the "how can anyone do that" thought. i feel the same regarding why homosexuals do what they do. on the other hand, i feel the same about christians. but, that''s another issue. as far as "perverted ***ual behavior" goes, it is likely not perverted to them. and, unlike bestiality of child rape, there is consent,

payasyougo: perhaps if you looked up "bigot"
-----
Bigot: a person obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially : one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance.

Thank you. Good point. Looks like I fall under the definition as it applies to opinion and intolorance toward beastiality and any other perverted s_xual behavior but not the prejudice or hatred parts. Just becuase a group of people practice the perverted behaviors does not make them right (in my opinion, which is protected by the 1st amendment, smae as your''s). And I don''t have tolorate it. In the workplace or elsewhere it is not an issue of tolorance because there are workplace guidelines and public laws restricting practice of perverted s_xual behavior in public. I am just not allowed to discriminate based on it, anymore than with other protected classes. But...

It will always be a devoted opinion.
It will forever be a lack of tolorance.

Perverted s_xual behavior will never be other than what it is. It''s in the category of someone that picks their nose and eats it. It''s neither hatred or prejudice but more a feeling of "how can someone do that".
