Homeland Security Chief Says No Guarantee Catching Terrorists With EU Passports
- And, the next time an attack happens--and it IS a matter of when, not if---you''''ll hear nothing but deafening silence from these same libs. Not one will step forward and admit that during all these years of mocking, they were wrong.

Instead you''ll hear them say they were right for instead of wasting billions dollars chasing these ragheads and creating wars and more terrorism, we should be spending money here; protecting our borders, protecting our ports, hiring inspectors to protect our food, etc. - Reply to this comment
- I live in the US and am old and wise compared to you Kennedy. 3 generations of kids have worked for me and this one is the worst of the lot. They are lazy, selfish and poorly educated by their own choice. And I am not rich, I work to pay my bills just like the rest. Are there exceptions? Yes but they used to be the norm - kind, respectful, hard working and eager to learn and earn their own way. That''s not what we are seeing now in the younger generation.

- All the libs do on these forums is mock, mock, and mock some more.
All of these libs safely ensconced away in their little apartments in the cities, all kept safe by a government they despise and a military they laugh at.
All of them taking for granted the safety and security they have had since 9-11.
All of them convenientlyforgetting that 3000 people died that day, their only crime being getting up and going to work.
And, the next time an attack happens--and it IS a matter of when, not if---you''ll hear nothing but deafening silence from these same libs. Not one will step forward and admit that during all these years of mocking, they were wrong.

- Still, the rising number of defaults in mortgages, home equity loans and credit cards suggested that the worst was not over. Chase, the bank%u2019s big consumer arm, set aside $3.8 billion in reserves, about twice the amount from the previous year, to cushion its expected losses. Yet, in those businesses, it catered to some of the industry%u2019s most creditworthy borrowers.
Although the bank is widely praised for its strong balance sheet and management under its chief executive, James Dimon, Thursday%u2019s results showed that it was not immune to economic and competitive pressure. The bank loosened lending standards and was caught off-guard by the severe downturn in home prices along with many of its rivals.
%u201CWe were wrong,%u201D Mr. Dimon said on a conference call with analysts and investors. %u201CWe obviously wish we hadn%u2019t done it.%u201D
%u201COur expectation is those mortgage losses could triple from there,%u201D Mr. Dimon said. %u201CWe had $100 million a quarter and we could go to $300 million a quarter sometime in 2009.%u201D
He cautioned that conditions could get worse.
%u201COur expectation is for the economic environment to continue to be weak %u2014 and to likely get weaker %u2014 and for the capital markets to remain under stress,%u201D Mr. Dimon said in a statement. - Reply to this comment
- kittykat, LOL! typical denial from the leftwing loons! What would you people do if you actually joined the world of reality and somehow could be convinced that there are Islamic terrorists that would kill you? What would your Response be?

- Oh please, can''t you see this chit for what it really is? Chit. Pure and simple. A little Bush/Repub propoganda to scare the country into voting right again. The reason there have not been any more terrorist attacks on US soil since 9/11 is NOT because of the diligence of Bush and his cronies...it''s because he hasn''t ordered any more attacks...he''s had the whole country in the grip of terror with his rantings about terrorisht this and terrorisht that. Wake up.

- Disregarding the incompetence of the current administration, one thing I will say is that it is no coincidence that we have not been attacked on American soil since 9/11. We don''t hear about the successes because we don''t want to tip off the terrorists.

- The left in this country, along with most Democrats MUST deny that there is a war on terror or their agenda of blaming America and Bush would be NONSENSE.

- "Terrorists are fully in support of Obama being president"
How do you know terrorists are supporting Obama? If they are supporting Obama, exactly how are they doing that? Are they going door to door, sending money, taking ads out in newspapers?
What better friend to terrorists have they had than George Bush? I would say, nobody has been a terrorists better friend than Bush. His war brought down a dictator that kept the terrorists out of Iraq, and gave reason for a new generation of Muslims around the world to hate us. Iran has never been stronger, thanks to the US invading Iraq.
Bush and the US government have blindly supported Israel. For example, providing $4 bill a year in money as well as loan guarantees for the building of illegal settlements. This has further strengthened terrorists.
If the terrorists were supporting any US presidential candidate, my guess is they would be for the McCain. - Reply to this comment
- Good thing they lifted the gun ban huh? That really makes me wonder why it got lifted, hmm. Maybe they know we are about to have to protect ourselves against a true enemy. Just food for thought.

- Isn''t it wonderful when a group of people like PNAC and Big Oil - as embodied by Cheney - have so ruined the reputation of the Presidency that the first things people think is:
"Either a scare tactic, or they are going to intentionally let some slip through." - Reply to this comment
- We can end terrorism by not blindly supporting Israel, by becoming energy independent as Al Gore suggests, removing all our troops from the Middle East and making peace with Iran.
We need to look inward and rebuild our own broken, debt ridden country. To pay for this we should reduce our military spending. The US spends $100BILLION more per year than the remainder of the world combined. This reduction would help prevent an arms race with Russia and China - which by the way have much more money than we do.
The USA is no longer a rich country. By which measure do we have the right to call ourselves rich? The USA is in debt to the tune of $8-9 trillion. The money is being borrowed from all over the world but mostly from China. So Uncle Sam has a Chinese credit card and thinks he is rich. Ridiculous.
The US government has borrowed on each American families behalf, $19,000 and counting. That is just the current debt. Add into the figure the cost of future Medicare, social security and other commitments and the average family now owes $500,000 (not a typo) - Reply to this comment
- More scare tactics, albeit the softest form of it since 911. I think the American people have caught on to this BS.
