President Claims Executive Privilege To Keep Congress From Seeing Cheney Interview Report In Plame Case
- Obama and Michelle are my distance cousins. We are all related in this world.
Or do you need a better tangible Association to bring down Obama?

I don''t quite understand your intent; myself, I was indulging myself arguing with somebody who constantly slams Obama and uses the facts - such as they are - quite loosely in support of her goal.
Are you inferring that I am attempting to bring Obama down, or are you suggesting that your relationship with Obama is a good enough reason to disparage him? - Reply to this comment
- Hey omded,
"... they just look like criminals who are beyond the reach of the law."
Correction: "... they just look like criminals who are above the law."
Richard Nixon would have saved his presidency by just using "Executive Priviledge". Too bad Karl Rove was not born yet in 1993. - Reply to this comment

- I think Bush and Cheney would have been better off trying to lie about their involvement in this debacle. This "Executive Priviledge" stuff is getting old, and people aren''t buying it. It just proves they have something to hide. I think Bush and Cheney have hurt public respect and trust for the Presidency more than any other president since Richard Nixon. I''m sure Karl Rove could have cooked something up that would have at least taken attantion away from their crimes. Right now, they just look like criminals who are beyond the reach of the law.

(P.S. To be absolutely correct, Michelle was on the board of a company that is a supplier to Wal-Mart. Obama''s connection to Wal-Mart is much more tenous, as he has both praised efforts to unionize Wal-Mart stores and offered up opinions that Wal-Mart and globalization "aren''t all bad".
But if I give all the facts the first time, it doesn''t leave any room for Rowdy to make stuff up - and what is the fun in that?) - Reply to this comment
- Fannie and Freddie shares have declined by about 80 percent this year. The slump in the two mortgage agencies has sparked a new catchphrase -- ``Too Chinese to Fail'''''''' -- based on the $974 billion of U.S. agency debt held by foreign investors, a fivefold increase since 2003.
Financial markets and U.S. legislators alike have derided U.S. Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson''''s plan to bail out the mortgage lenders. One of the two key elements is illogical, while the second is plain outrageous.
Just last week, Fannie Mae said it ``has access to ample sources of liquidity, including access to the debt markets.'''''''' Freddie Mac said it was ``adequately capitalized, highly liquid and an essential part of the nation''''s housing system.'''''''' Either they are being economical with the truth, or the decision to let them borrow from the Federal Reserve''''s discount facility is window-dressing that serves no real purpose.
Defending the Indefensible
Worse is the scheme to allow Paulson to dip into the nation''''s tax revenue to purchase shares in Fannie and Freddie -- shares that investors have already deemed to be almost worthless. If the mortgage lenders can''''t survive in their current form, the government shouldn''''t be defending the indefensible.
In April, Standard & Poor''''s said the risk that the U.S. would have to prop up its so-called Government Sponsored Enterprises posed a bigger threat to the country''''s AAA rating than its willingness to underwrite securities firms. - Reply to this comment

Money will only give you conveniences which will spoil you but never happiness in life.

Nope, I have not forgotten anything.
I think they have correctly concluded that Wal-Mart is unequaled in their ability to size up a politician''s potential early on - and at attempting to get their hooks into them as quickly as possible. - Reply to this comment

I am on your side on this one. If we impeach Bush, I do not want Cheney as my President. I love America too much. - Reply to this comment
- I know that the fact that Hillary spent six years on the board of the corporation that benefited both first and the most from Bill''''s free trade actions (i.e., the day that the transformation of America''''s workers into the fabled "fatted calf" was complete), but just because she worked for Wal-Mart doesn''''t mean...
Oh, wait...that isn''''t what you meant....

- This decision was very easy for Bush to make. Officially, Bush is already the worst President ever. He figured, it cannot get anymore worst.

- The PNAC ( Project for a New American Century ) & The Council For National Policy are two secretive organisations with crossover membership of several hundred of the richest men in the USA . They put Bush & Cheney in office to accomplish their global capitalist agenda. In September 2007 they met again in Salt Lake City. The CNP wants to continue their agenda in global market control for BIG OIL & allied industry in the next election. National media outlets are owned by their members. Who will stop their insanity and destruction of the constitution ? Who will stop their misuse of the military to promote their global agenda ?
Paul Wolfowitz,Don Rumsfeld, Scooter Libby, George W.Bush, George H.W. Bush, Richard Cheney, Eliot Cohen. Zalmay Khalilzad, Steve Forbes, Donald Kagan, Pete Rodman, Henry S. Rowen, Dan Quale, William J.Bennett, Jeb Bush, they are all members of the PNAC Project for a New American Century.
On January 26, 1998 in a letter to the President the PNAC asked Clinton to invade Iraq and get rid of Saddam Hussein. Clinton refused their request and they got even. George W. Bush took their agenda and got it done...........Mission Accomplished ! - Reply to this comment
- Nice analogy, but you left off the part where it was the other parent that ate them.
