Question for you, who is more righteous, one who follows Christ and his message, or one who rejects him

Posted by jankebenz at 08:49 PM : Jul 05, 2008
..................

Clearly, in the context of the Christian religion, those who follow Christ and his message are "righteous".

But in this world, there are three kinds of people...

1. Those who *attempt* to follow Christ and his message (as interpreted by the individuals who "follow" it), but fall short.

2. Those who feel they follow Christ and his (interpreted) message better than others, but fall WAY short. (that being you and Providence).

3. Finally, those who follow a different path than Christ. And I mean "path" by referring to something other than the Christian religion... which could mean no religion at all.

Trying to provide logic and reason to these fundaMENTALists is impossible.

They shield themselves from such logic and reason with their hate and hypocrisy, hidden behind *their* bible, (or their interpretation of it).

Thus, the compassion and love that Jesus gave to everyone, even those who look away from him, is lost among the condemnations from these idiots on this comment board. They may think they are righteous, but the are far from it.

As for logic and intelligence, well, some believe that they evolved from a rock thru to the monkey, and some believe they were created by an all intelligent God, logic speaks for itself.

You people who claim to be so ''''''''righteous'''''''' absolutely floor me, you are far from spiritual. You set in constant judgement of your fellow man, if you recall, Jesus spent most of his time with social outcast, the same ones that you condemn. Your version of Christianity has no compassion, no smpathy - see California quotes posted by your Brethren. You are so stuck on your own self-righteousness that you miss the entire message, love and compassion is what is needed in the world not hate and hypocrisy

What are you talking about? I don''t see any posts here about being so self righteous, but i do see posts about bringing righteouness back to America to turn the tide of imorality and sin. Study the bible, Jesus had compassion for all, but his message was to repent and follw him. He did not say alls well, keep on sinning.

That''''s right, nobody''''s forcing you to believe, The same was true when Noah built the ark. They laughed and mocked till the rains came. Then they changed their laughter into pleas for help, too late!

That''s great you believe. Your god isn''t a fact though, only a belief. The weather and its consequences are a fact.

This tale is not intended to be sacrilegious. It is my way of saying in addition to depending on God''''s favor we also need to use the free will He gave us to best determine how we take care of our world, ourselves, each other and to do His bidding.

So the ship that rode past you is the message of the cross being the finish work of Jesus? He paid your debt? And did you call on Jesus to save you?

Strong Winds Hamper Calif. Fire Efforts? We have fires, floods, tornadoes, crime and a bad economy, gas prices food prices no jobs losing of homes? Sounds a bit like Pharaoh saying no to God when Moses told him about the Lord?
Maybe, if we wanted a healthier better America we should turn to God to heal our land? Just think? It happened another time in the annuals of history? Yeah God was going to destroy this place called Nineveh and the people repented and God spared them. We pray to God do this in America?

To coincide with your story Lloyd... here''s a great quote:

"I prayed for twenty years but received no answer until I prayed with my legs."

I can think of no other way to put this:

And I think that Jesus would spend no more time in a Mega-Church than it took him to run the traders out of the Temple.

Since you have a direct line to God and nothing is too small, could you please ask Her to send torrential rains to California?

What part of "he" don''t you understand?
God created Adam in "his" image.

To Providence_J, Globalcool08, jankebenz and others:

It is well to trust in God. No reasonable person can ever say it''s folly but I would like to tell a story..

An old man living alone was caught in one of the midwest''s periodic floods. The water rose so high that he had to climb out his attic window and onto his roof. The water kept rising.
Eventually a neighbor rode by in his boat and offered the old gent a lift. He said, "No, thanks. God will save me".
His neighbor turned away and later on, the county sheriff came by in his boat and offered him a lift. The old man told the sheriff the same thing he told his neighbor, "God will save me."
Still later a the state patrol flew over in a helicopter and offered rescue. The elderly man, once again, said: "No thanks. God will save me".
Well, it came to pass the waters rose to the point they washed the old man away and he drowned.
When he arrived in Heaven and complained to God, asking why He didn''t save him, God thought for a minute and then said, "Oh, I remember..Aren''t you the idiot I sent two boats and a helicopter after??"

This tale is not intended to be sacrilegious. It is my way of saying in addition to depending on God''s favor we also need to use the free will He gave us to best determine how we take care of our world, ourselves, each other and to do His bidding.

Why is it to hard for you to call on God for a miracle? I am praying you can too? Its easy? are you afraid to ask God for help?

Posted by Providence_J

Why do you asume, and it is quite an assumption, that you speak for him? YOU are the one to interput God to the rest of the world?? That takes some stones!

God will show you! Jesus paid your sin debt? This allows you the chance to call on Jesus for salvation. Then you, if you desire a relationship from turning from self, will know what you will need to know!
