Great. Then please post audio of you and your significant other having s e x. After all, you have nothing to hide so you don''t mind people listening in on you, right? - Reply to this comment
- I have never committed a crime in my life, ecxept nmaybe the habit of voicing and expressing my opinion - written and vocal - over various political leaders and their sometimes antics - and if that ever be considered a crime in this country, then sue me, but IF ever I were to be the subject of a wiretap for doing that or ANY other reason, but especially for only voicing my opinion (but never in my life have I ever made ANY kind of a threat to anyone... ''promises'' that I fulfilled, yes...but threats, no) - but if that were to happen to me I would toss my phone OUT in a heartbeat and begin to construct tin foil hats to send to some of my local politicos and a few national ones as well, to perhaps prevent their collective brains from receiving and retaining ''unknown foreign matter'' in such small spaces.

How MANY great Patriots have warned us about people who use this "IF you have nothing to hide" line. They, we have been told, are the greatest enemy a Free People have ever had. Why? Because THEY will always, in the end, determine what you wish to have KNOWN and that which you desire NOT to have Known. They will, in the end, determine what IS the business of Government and Who the enemy really is. When the people of Germany started down that long slide into Fascism they were NO different than this poor small minded person. "So we give up some freedom, we didn''t really need it anyway", they reasoned. "So a few people were harmed, it was for the good of the Country wasn''t it"? By the time they figured out that ONE freedom lost lead to ALL freedom being lost, there were NO longer anyone left to defend those freedoms. THEY were ALL labeled in Bush Speak as "Enemy Combatants" and were dead or in a prison camp. These people in charge of this nation are MORE fascist than the Nazi''s when they started and they use the SAME reasoning to trample the Constitution... keeping us safe from Terrorist. Sieg Heil America.. SIEG HEIL - Reply to this comment

You forgot a couple small details, in the absence of enforcement of the right to habeas corpus, You don''t need to have anything to hide, Bush can lie, calling you a "terrorist" and you never get the chance to disprove his lies.
Also, the appearance of ex-post-fact laws, forbidden twice by name in the constitution, means that a president can now say "I hereby declare it an act of "terrorism" to use the name "swwils" as a sig for blogging, and retroactively dated to 2007. You can now be arrested and tortured, with no right to trial
Still don''t get it, do you? - Reply to this comment

You''re wrong, first Bush calls anyone who resists being turned into a slave a "terrorist", then he tortures and murders them. - Reply to this comment
- That Judge must not know the new Homeland Security procedure, that our Congress passed. The President can do pretty much whatever he/she deems necessary to catch, stop and over take terrorist activity. Also I am sure the Supreme court will side with the Commander in Chief on this one.If you have nothing to hide then why should you be concerned about someone listening to your conversation"I''m not, they can listen all they want"I have nothing too hide.So you freakin terrorist look out Big Bro is watching, and listening!

- Don''t worry Dubya, a federal judge may not like you spying on Americans, but Pelosi and Obama are up for it. You''ll see Dubya, they''ll give you everything you want, including immunity. All you have to do is sign yet another pork ridden spending bill. But then again, have there been any other kind of spending bills since your pathetic Presidency began limping along?

- Ursodumb and Achilles281 desperately need to grow up. This is a political board, not a board for trading insults like sixth graders. Here are a few thoughts for you to ponder after you decide to start behaving like adults:
"The deterioration of every government begins with the decay of the principles on which it was founded." - Charles de Secondat, baron de Montesquieu, The Spirit of the Laws (1748)
"In the end, more than they wanted freedom, they wanted security. When the Athenians finally wanted not to give to society but for society to give to them, when the freedom they wished for was freedom from responsibility, then Athens ceased to be free." - Edward Gibbon
"It is clear that thought is not free if the profession of certain opinions makes it impossible to earn a living." - Bertrand Russell, 1872-1970
"Most people would die sooner than think; in fact, they do so." - Bertrand Russell, 1872-1970 - Reply to this comment
