I can see that I have hit a nerve.
It is so hard to understand, that punishment and blame have no role in the total evaluation. We are are products of societal influences, and for women that means a male dominated set of expectations, not of our choice.

Let me see now, why is this illegal alien back in the US of A. for humantiarian reason is that meaning we need to feed and cloth him educate him at the tax payers expense, hech we have bred him what more does he expect to scr----ew our country out of. I thinkhe should be back home enjoying the sun, in good old mexico.
the sorry lot of illegal aliens from old mexico will do anything to live in the home of thheeeeeeeee freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee us of a,
expecially when they have to pay nothing as they can steal it so much easier or have judges to appoint them to the free of status books.

I know she''s probably not in the best mood and all, but doesn''t she look a little vague around the eyes? She''s clearly not all there. I think she could have a career in production.

GRAD,

I''m not an angry man, I am a woman and find your analysis of this situation as well as your opinion of boys/sports/agression/etc...utterly ridiculous. Believe me when I say, "no anger here, just observation."

Toot your own horn much, COLLEGE GRAD? It''s obvious that you need some sort of confirmation for all of your "accomplishments". But, why in the world do you think it necessary to "de-male" boys in order for girls to be valued? Boys simply need to be taught right from wrong, no need to go as far as you suggest. Ridiculous.

so called "illegal" ( how can anyone be illegal just to exist ??).

If you do not believe that young women can be conflicted by MALES in the work place, be it students or fellow staff, or their bosses--- I guess your mind is closed to certain aspects of --- reality, it happens, and we must guard against it, not hide from it.

First, now that you are out of school get a job and see what reality is really like.

Second, an "illegal" is an abreviation (hamilton did tell you what that is didn''t they?) for illegal alien, you are not illegal for existing, but illegao for going somewhere you are not supposed to go, legally.

Third, yes women and men are both going to encounter compromising situations in life and work where they must do the right thing, or it is wrong and they have to deal with the results. A teacher is held to a higher standard. This lady admitted to commiting illegal acts with a student in her charge. She was caught red-handed and admitted her guilt. We are not judging her on guesses, but on her and her attorney''s testimony. GEt a clue.

She is clearly a victim. She was thrown in jail wasn''''t she ?

So all the people in jail are the vicitms? What a loser. She and her attorney said she commited criminal acts, being put in jail is a result of those acts.

Just out of college and know it all do you?

I am sorry to see that my posts have caused such anger.
All I am trying to get through to you Joe and Janes, is that we need more facts, and should not judge this woman so quickly...

In a previous post you made reference to this woman as being a "victim," did you not? Perhaps YOU should stop defending her until you have all the facts on the matter. Fair enough?

I think you should look a little further south where all the conservatives are showing their family values with young boys.

Do some research. Every state in the south has mandatory sentencing for these creeps that takes them off the sreets for decades. Vermont? Welcome to the land of NAMBLA. Look it up.

Typical double standard when it comes to female crime....

A 26 year old male teacher doinking & running off with his 13 year old female student would get destroyed - regardless of whether or not she was ''into it''. Again, stereotypes, sexism, and inequality are all fine & dandy when it suits their interests....

Why are the laws between men and women so different. If a 26 yr. old male teacher drove to mexico with a 13yr. old female student, the state would add all types of charges...kidnapping would be one and I would almost guess that they would add rape for s e x with a minor.

She should have just "done him" in Vermont. The state that loves pedophiles. She would have gotten a week in jail and hearty pat on the back from the most LIB state in the union.

As a feminist and a college Professor (Women and the World), I an shocked that this poor woman has been treated as if she is a criminal.
She is a victim...

I really hope that this was your attempt at satire or sarcasm. If it was not, you really need help.

This sort of attitude does a major disservice to women. My daughters are just entering college; they want to be treated as human beings and as equals - not as helpless victims.
