If I lived in Texas, I would shoot these people who broke in and burglarized my neighbours house also. I think he is a hero. Sometimes measures have to be taken to keep your home and surroundings safe. He should get a medal for what he did, in my opinion.

If you don''t like the law in Texas, then stay out of other peoples homes, better yet stay out of Texas

The two suspected burglars, Hernando Riascos Torres, 38, and Diego Ortiz, 30, were unemployed illegal immigrants from Colombia. Torres was deported to Colombia in 1999 after a 1994 cocaine-related conviction.

The incident touched off protests from civil rights activists"

So if they were here ILLEGALLY then what happened to them is of NO concern to us, nor should our justice system waste money and time on this.
Civil rights activists??? exactly WHAT civil rights does an ILLEGAL and convicted criminal stealing someone''s stuff after breaking in, have in the US?

They had the right to be shot dead or otherwise ELIMINATED, if they didn''t like that idea... TOO BAD! then STAY HOME and don''t come here.

Joe is a hero, had the cops arrested the 2 slimes they would be back out on the street in no time and then they or their buddies would go after Joe as they''d have learned HE called the cops and would have known exactly where he lives. Torres was once convicted AND deported in 1994, obvious that didn''t work- the POS came back, now he CANT LOL

Good job Joe!!!

A. They were shot in the back b/c they walked towards him Mr. Horn said stop the guy did not stop Mr. horn raised his gun and shot the guy turned around before the the bullets reached him.

B. He only fired 3 shots

C. Since when does passing the police academy mean your not scarred in any situation?

D. you people make it sound like he chased them down the street and shot at them he was protecting himself, and rightfully so.

"These people he killed with his shotgun were hungry."

HUNGRY? Did they break in thinking they were at a grocery store? Were they in the kitchen fixing tamales?

I would imagine that the burglary rate goes down in the neighborhood ..

That''s the law in Texas so for all you who dont understand ... tough ...

You sympathizers probably think these two illegals deserve to be here and steal also ...

It is not done quite yet .. the feds may very well get involved .. although I have a hard time understanding how an illegal alien has any civil rights to defend.

Oh well ... thats life ... or not ...

Why do we need laws when you can kill and give a running commentary of how you are going to do it. He is a cold blooded murdcer and the grand jury let him off. It was not even his house they were robbing. and he told the operator taht he was going to kill them. Only in texas and only in harris county.

Watch out for those speeders on the way home hahahaha - Posted by toobooko

You need to watch out for people like me, lunatic. People who believe that severely insane individuals such as yourself need to be locked up for the rest of their lives.

When we come for you, though, just pull out your gun. Please. We know what to do. The difference between you and sane people, though, is that we''ll only kill you when you ACTUALLY try to KILL us instead of doing something which isn''t going to hurt anybody at all. But, sure, go ahead and wave that gun around. It''s all you''ve got when your brain won''t work.

Yeah, see, you really are mentally ill. I don''''t deserve to die on the road because someone else chooses to break the law. You, however, do deserve to be locked up so that the rest of the society doesn''''t have to be exposed to the infection which has eaten your brain and caused you to become a willing murderer. You don''''t have any comprehension of the concept of rational thought because your brain simply doesn''''t function.

You need to be housed in a secure mental facility. Unfortunately, Ronnie Ray-Gun started a movement in this country to dump the lunatics out on the street. He needed a larger voting constituency...and now they run the country and the Republican Party and there is no place to care for the severely dangerous mentally ill.

and if i belong in a asylum til i die then i hope you and your family dies on the way home by someone who is speeding since the "odds of somone speeding are greater than someone breaking in." - Posted by toobooko

Hey you moron .... I''''m the one providing the facts! You''''re the one providing the spin to support your opinion. - Posted by Xyno

Yeah, that''s just it. You SAY they''re "facts". They aren''t. Not even remotely. They''re statistics. They''re statistics which everyone who analyzes them says are deeply flawed. Why? They tell us that there are areas of the country where the FACTS ARE NOT RECORDED because the police and prosecutors don''t CHOOSE to act on the facts. This is not rocket science. Everyone IN LAW ENFORCEMENT who is tasked with reporting on the validity of the hate crime statistics in the U.S. reports that they are DEEPLY FLAWED. You can''t tell anybody anything of value when the issue you''re trying to measure is simply ignored in large areas of the country. What you CAN learn from such statistics is where those deep flaws are created.

Once again, why can''t a moron learn to buy a clue? It''s really not that difficult.

Thank you! Thank you for proving my point about the absolute necessity to set up a nationwide system of high security insane asylums for people like you. You need to be removed from society and get intensive treatment till you die.Posted by martel_v

People like are the reason why criminals exist. You think the punishment was "too harsh." What would you rather have them get? parole? fined? community service? They got what they deserved and you know it. 2 more dead criminals less taxes we all pay whoo hoo!!

If I''''m ever in his situation, I would have done the same thing. - Posted by borghesa

Of course you would. But you''re a murderer. The rest of us want to lock you up for the rest of your life and throw away the key, so as not to be infected with your mental illness.

I think he is the man of the year for doing this. they were criminals and they devserved every bullet they got. I would''''ve shot them over and over again. If someone was breaking into my house (for example) i dont care how old he or she is. I would shoot them all even if it is a kid - Posted by toobooko

See, your brain just doesn''t work at all. You need to see a doctor, stat!

I didn''t say it would make me happy. I don''t care one way or the other. It''s YOUR rule. YOU said it would make you happy...break the law, be killed.

Of course, you probably MEANT that it would make you happy if everybody but YOU got killed, but my problem with you is that you don''t have any idea what you''re talking about at all.

"The message we''re trying to send today is the criminal justice system works," Harris County District Attorney Kenneth Magidson told reporters at the courthouse.
