- I remember when I went skydiving 10 years ago. I had to sign multiple forms waiving right to sue and stating I knew this was dangerous. I also had to watch a 10-min lawyer video explaining the risks and then allow myself to be videotaped saying I saw and understand the video. Perhaps more businesses need to use this strategy. It''''s insane that (a) most of us think we are guaranteed a risk-free life and (b) We think we have the right to sue, no matter how much our problem was self-caused. Sick.

- Is there a way to get Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and all the ambulance chasing lawyers to look for hats under the ride? The US would be much the better for it. Maybe a bunch of the ACLU also!

Sgt. Dana Pierce, a Public Information Officer with the Cobb County Police Department described the accident " Preliminary information indicates that the victim and his male companion climbed over a perimeter fence from a parking lot on the south end of the facility. The two then climbed a second fence which surrounds the rollercoaster and the immediate area around it. While near the ride, one of the two males was struck and killed by the rollercoaster. Neither the male companion nor anyone else on the ride at the time was injured."
Officers believe the two boys had left the park earlier in the day and instead of reentering through the main gate, they jumped the fences around the ride marked as restricted areas with signs that read "Danger" and "Do Not Enter."
Police were investigating whether he entered the restricted area to retrieve a hat he may have dropped while riding the coaster. - Reply to this comment

- What the h_ll does Al Sharpton have to do with anything??? I''m actually no fan of Rev. Shaprton, but this story has absolutely no relation to him. Do you just ramble all over the internet, looking for any chance to bring Shaprton into the conversation and disparage him?

- Just a little disappointed that we haven''t heard from Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. They will be at an opening for a Walmart if they can be photographed

- This is what happens when one does stupid things and violates restricted space. Wonder if this kid would''ve turned eighteen before the election and would''ve voted for Obama; his actions sort of infer this.

- in regards to loneeagles comment about stupidity, "cant cure stupid, gotta kill it".

- Now for those of you out there condemning those of us who can see the humor in this incident, by saying that we have no heart or soul.
(I will admit to not having either. I was given an iou instead)
However I do believe that stupidity deserves to be made fun of. If you noticed I have not made any comment on the forum where the little kids were killed in a freak windstorm.
Again Stupity deserves to be made fun of. If you don''t want me to make fun of you then make sure that you don''t do anything stupid.
Until my next post allow me to give you this delightful image. The roller coaster. High peak 50mph

- You have to remember this is Georgia he might have seen the signs but couldn''t read.
Unfortunately our court system no longer acknowledges a persons obligation to conduct themselves in a proper manner. They will win the lawsuit even though there were signs everywhere. The judge will say he should not have had access at all.
It''s just like a ski resort....if a person breaks their leg they can sue eventhough the ticket and numerous signs tells them they are skiing at their own rick. Same with a foul ball at a game....they say you can''t sue on the back of the ticket but that means nothing. Same with leaving a jacket on a coat rack at a restaraunt they say not responsible for garments left on rack but guess what they are.
It''s a shame noone is accountable for their own actions anymore. SUE SUE SUE - Reply to this comment
- They haven''t had a chance to get with lawyers yet. They''ll sue.

- Apparently no one is reading the information correctly, the parents of the boy that was decapitated are not suing. Its the parents of the girl who lost her leg. Read the article completely before you start making accusations and insinuations

- He scaled two 6-foot fences and passed signs that said the restricted area was both off-limits and dangerous to visitors, the park is not responsible for ignorance!

If he didn''t see the signs, he was ignorant.
If he did, he made a very bad choice, but he wasn''t ignorant. Perhaps you are ignorant of the definition of the word. - Reply to this comment
- How long do you think it will take for the lawsuits to be filed, both by the boy''s parents, although HE wilfully jumped two fences and IGNORED warning/restriction signs, and also probably more than a few by the people riding the coaster and friends who were with him, due to the "trauma and shock" they will claim from witnessing this horrible accident? Six Flags will end up paying exorbitant amounts of money to settle the suits, and will, in turn, pass the cost of this boy''s incredibly stupid actions on to their patrons. Personal responsibility doesn''t mean much anymore, in the face of a slew of lawyers who will be more than happy to take the cases, so they can make a buck or two (or million) also.

- People%u2026..he scaled two 6-foot fences and passed signs that said the restricted area was both off-limits and dangerous to visitors, the park is not responsible for a 17 year olds ignorance and choice to ignore numerous warnings.
