Following Supreme Court Ruling, Gun Advocates Sue To Overturn City Housing Gun Bans
- I agree most people panic in a life and death situation. I do not advocate anyone getting a weapon with out a conviction they will use it if necessary and the proper training for handling a weapon. I have the training and am used to being faced with these situations. Most are not.

Correct most people are not. But when all is said and done at the end of the day a person whether before or after a confrontation will live with the assurance that they are not helpless and were able to do something about it, with having a gun in the home. - Reply to this comment
- God bless the supreme Court of the United States. God bless The NRA of which I am a long time member.
Any laws that take away the rights of "law abiding citizens" to defend themselves must be challenged in the courts.
Criminals do not follow nor obey gun laws, or any laws for that matter.! - Reply to this comment
- If we can preemptively attack another country - why cant we do the same with our killers at home? LEGALIZE PREEMPTIVE SNIPING OF KNOWN MS13 MEMBERS!!!

I would agree for the most part, except the DNC today is not the same DNC of the past. They along with the republican party have become the icons of corruption. We need an independent party of the people now. Carter is the one who deregulated gas and oil prices. And he still wondwers why he can''t get any job today except that of a volunteer carpenter. I do feel he was probably the most honest president we have had in modern times, but it was like throwing the sheep to the wolves. They ate him alive. - Reply to this comment
- patriot12436, I deeply respect your opinions as you know. We can agree to disagree on this one and the future will determine whether one candidate or the other was worthy. Can I just say this. I trust the Democratic Party that chose John F. Kennedy. I trust the Democratic Party that chose Jimmy Carter. I trust the Democratic Party that chose Bill Clinton. Please , please let me say this again in the coming years if Obama is elected.

I would really like to agree but there are so many unanswered questions about his associates and his cousin in Africa who is a known terrorist. I do not feel we can take the chance to trust he will do what he says or he believes what he says. He has jumped in the opposite directions on so many things i cannot know where he stands on any issue. We need a strong leader who has experie4nce and is not afraid to make a decision. I don''t want to support McCain as he will continue the war in Iraq. I have been writing a lot of letters to my senators and all i get from both sides is a lot of double talk. I think we have to clean house and get rid of anyone in office now if we are going to see any hope for change and saving our country. - Reply to this comment

I have been on this blog for quite some time now and I will repeat it again here for the record. brianbwb is one of the most articulate individuals here and I have always found his commentary informative and constructive. I will reiterate here that the entire world is hanging on for the decision that you all make for a new president. There are good and bad points to consider with any candidate, but I believe we all must focus on what is at stake here. Does Obama deserve the chance to turn it all around? I think so. Do we have an alternative at this point? No. Do the hopes and dreams of so many who desperately desire change ride on this one man? Yes. For those who have doubts about the man, that is justified because we all have fears of the unknown. It is high time in my opinion that we abandon fear and embrace a common dialogue that focuses on the issues that unite people despite the bad blood and the history that has left so many open wounds. It''s time for hope. - Reply to this comment

The way I put things, sorry for the surface reaction, is how someone experiences at the moment actual terrible crimes against the familys that only the police blotter advertises? So when people are attack by a crime they "Do not have the rational to think coherently!" - Reply to this comment

- O man? Now we, the gangs lookin for drug money, cannot break into your house and maim you or your wife and children? Now with these gun laws we will have to think twice when entering a law abiding citizens house who has gotten a gun legally! Thats unfair. Please someone anyone help us overturn these laws by any reason other than the fact it brings safety to a family and doubt whether for us to break in any old house at night and slaughter anyone who stands in the way of our crime. Please if you are against these laws and do not own a gun let me know and we will pay your house a visit so you can feel the pain of helplessness of someone messin with your family. Please I need my drugs! And maybe get a little with your loved ones?

I think we all want this too. But when someone is not above reproach times 3 dare we trust the helm of our country to a man who is unproven no backbone and inexperienced? - Reply to this comment

- and even where we may not agree, at least show that rational discussion is still possible.

There is no rational discussion when your all tied up and the gang who broke into your house is doin your wife and 12 year old girl. You cannot "be good" in these circumstances in the home. Only a gun for protection is the way to go unless your just someone who wants to pick up the pieces and help yhe police with the yellow tape and body bags for your loved ones? - Reply to this comment

It is not for their edification, we both know that it is beyond their comprehension. It is, in My opinion more important to show people around the world who does read these comments, that there are at least some Americans who aren''t sociopaths.
It is good that I can count on rational people like yourself to continue to post logical rebuttals to these "ijuts", and even where we may not agree, at least show that rational discussion is still possible. - Reply to this comment
