I like to think I''m liberal, open-minded, all that jazz. Guess what? I love guns. Bolts, pumps, semis, and especially antique revolvers. Bartender, lets have a round on me! 44 Russians for everyone!

it takes a liberal to preserve our freedoms and rights by taking it away...

the only people safe when liberals are in control are terrorists and criminals..

MMM, testing that theory, I''d like to hear an argument from the gun control folks for what they would do if a gang, intent on mayhem, forces their way into your home.

The Patriot Act must be a gang - it has the same effect...

Notice when you ask a fanatic a logical question they just seem to fade away without answering ?

The point being: gun regulations are totally in keeping with the 2nd amendment. If SF wants gun owners to use gun locks, that''''s the LEAST they should be required to do. Frankly, I believe they should also have to prove, one a year, ability to clean, load, and shoot. They should submit to unannounced police visits to check on the gun. And there should be a ''''informants'''' law allowing informants with knowledge of irresponsible gun ownership to collect money anonymously for telling the police about it.

And I suppose you will have no problem with a yearly test to make sure you know how to properly care for the keyboard you type your drivel with, or unannounced searches of your hard drive to verify you are properly storing the drivel you type, or unannounced searches to make sure your spellcheck is working correctly. After all SOME monitoring of your right to free speech is reasonable, right?
Just because you are willing to surrender YOUR rights does not mean I should be forced to surrender MINE.

Taking away guns from the citizens would logically translate towards only the police and the criminals having weapons. Since the police can''''t possibly, and likely won''''t be, everywhere at once, it would logically seem the only remaining deterent to widespread gangland home invasions by thugs is the citizen''''s right to bear arms, or at least the possibilty that the homeowner could possess a weapon.

MMM, testing that theory, I''''d like to hear an argument from the gun control folks for what they would do if a gang, intent on mayhem, forces their way into your home.

Your choices would seem to be limited to the following:

#1 hope you and your family live through it.

#2 pray you and your family live through it.

We live in a sometimes dangerous world, and the criminals could care less of the precise wording of an ancient document. Protect yourselves accordingly or risk the mercy of the "other" guy, whose intentions won''''t likely match yours.

In Homer Simpsons home one day one of our gangs visited his house with the intentions of you know what against Marge and Bart and Sally. But in Homers Simpsons world he has the right to use his gun for protection in his home so when the gang came crashing through his front door, Homer not knowing what was on their minds pulled the trigger on his glock and walla bernard Geotz was born! Homer after it was all done went and held his family close to him and the family held him as well and wept. They knew that what Homer did was to protect the security of the family. The Simpsons were never the same but none of them were crippled with the disease of helplessness that this gang would of inflicted on them had homer not owned a gun legally and for the protection of his family!

They went on in life to make cartoons for the whole world to enjoy!
A happy ending that would of been tragic if not for the decision of the father to defend his family buy owning a gun legally and using it responsibly!

The names have been changed to protect the people whos lives have been destroyed and maimed so that people who have no compassion or empathy do not adulterate them a second time!

"Bottom line: just because you have the right to smoke cigarettes, is no reason for ME to die of secondhand smoke. Guns''''ll kill 30,000 this year alone, most are innocents. Responsible gun laws help prevent that. The NRA is just soaked in blood.

You''d better double-check your logic, because it just aint working.
