Have you ever been to the Baldwin Hills section of LA? Predominantly black, but a very nice area to live if you''ve got the bucks. It used to be known as black Beverley Hills. Now have you been to East Hollywood - that would mean Hollywood/Sunset east of the Hollywood Freeway. Lived there in the ''80''s while I was at USC. Predominantly white but gun shots every night, hookers on the street corners, porn theater a block away - not a place to bring up kids. Silver Lake is now a high rent, predominantly hispanic neighbourhood. Obviously if you don''t have to live in a high crime area, you don''t, but generally, yes, if you''re white you''re safer in white slums than black slums and vice versa. - Reply to this comment

You really are something else. Clearly, as stated earlier...I have NO ISSUES with living in a predominantly black neighborhood as I did for many years.
Guess what? I had no issues.
Was it on a crime scale like South Cental LA? NO.
My point is this. My reason for not moving to SC LA is for safety, not because of color. I proved that by living in a non white neighborhood.
