On the Contrary,
We would evolve into a more well rounded kind of species,
Fairy tales ala Dobson and Fat Hagee would be reduced to the Gehenna of time.

Here''s the great part of being a Christian though midland. You can completely ignore Dobson or Fat Hagee, and still be a Christian...who believes in God....and believes that He is the right way.

But believing or refusing to believe because of other peoples'' influences? That''s pretty weak....

I do not have a hard time imagining a father allowing his son to suffer the sins of the world and a most painful and gruesome death.

I just dont see how that equates to the freeing of our spirits, to forgiving of our sins and allowing the opportunity to share a closer relationship with the Lord and the hope and reality of going to heaven to be with Him at the end of our lives.

I do not see the cause and effect of it.

To me, it makes no sense.

Because the world is still filled with sin.

And Christ%u2019s death did nothing to end that.

And just believing in Christ to me is not good enough and not enough in my mind for someones salvation.

I believe it is your ACTS and what you do in this life and with your life that dictates salvation.

Not just believing.

IF there is anything to take from the story of Christ it is the way he ACTED and the way he lived his life.

People misunderstand that and do not follow in those footsteps.

They just think that by saying I accept Jesus Christ as my lord and savior that they are saved.

And I feel that is just horse-hockey.

But then again the whole concept of Being Saved is horse-hockey to me too.

You don''t understand this because it''s not a simple idea to grasp. Most people make a simple statement like "Jesus died for our sins on the cross", but it''s not as simple as all that. You have to understand why he died and what was happening before and after that period of history.

Jesus'' death and what happened afterward were astonishingly miraculous events.

Unfortunately, it''s been dumbed down so badly, that a lot of people today don''t believe because they don''t follow history or the Bible at all.

Saint Francis of Assisi once said, "Preach the Gospels at all times. If necessary, use words."

"I still believe what I believe but you have made a good case for yourself. Unlike the others."

As long as you have faith that what you believe is true, then no one can take it away from you. We believe different things, but ultimately it is our faith and conviction that help us meet on common ground.

Despite that we disagree, I admire your tenacity and conviction. :-)
