bks59,

Yes, you are right. People today have a problem seeing the big picture. They live in the moment without a care for what the future holds. I know, in college I believed the same. However, my circumstances changed and the real world slapped me in the face. It will happen to them one day as well, you''ll see. It is a shame though.

so many claiming that same gender marraige is or will be the decline of the US, 1,500 responses to this article bears out the intense feelings. there is another article regarding the US and military lawyers fearing torture/ extreme interrogation may be illegal in 2002, 160 or so posts.

it is Our lack of participating in We the People''s Government that may/will cause the further erosion of the US, not whether Johnny and Billy, Jane and Betty recieve legal protections for their relationship. Wake up America!

Annmary and Lori Franks returned to city hall where there were married four years ago in a flood of illegal weddings, reports CBS News correspondent John Blackstone - this time to do it legally. The couple, together for 18 years, brought their three daughters with them, all decked out in pink.

"We get to say that we have two moms and everyone else says ''Oh, I want two moms too,''" one of their daughters told Blackstone.

SICK!

"I am not opposed to gay and lesbian relationships. However the relationship cannot be called a marriage for two historic reasons: First, the religious origin of marriage as a sacramental joining of male and female as prescribed in various religious texts and societal traditions; and second, the role of male and female to further propagate the species to insure it''''s survival. Gay and lesbian relationships cannot do this on their own. I suggest we call the union what it is... a union, rather than selfishly insisting that history rewrite itself.

Thanks Bluesjzz2 for explaining the argument against g@y "marriage" so perfectly.

Black Yowe: In the "natural world" there is no belief in any god. So, your christianity is against the "natural world" too. And, the word is accept, not except,

And it is significant that these marriages are going to be completely valid and legal forever. The anti-marriage folks have already filed several legal challenges in California, in different courts and districts. All have been rejected.

No matter what happens in November (and that will very likely be the people approving samesex marriages), there is no doubt these weddings are legally valid.

Every time a law is tested in court it becomes stronger. Thanks to the conservatives for spending time and lawyer fees to help ratify samesex marriages!

"A small number of oddballs want this so they can feel legitimate and draw attention to themselves."

Yes, there are a small number of oddballs who want to decide for other people which pairs of people should be allowed to marry. They try to wrap their prejudice and fear in religious or historical or legal garb, but they are only fooling themselves--and maybe not even that.

Meanwhile as everyone said, samesex marriages are becoming routine as the numbers grow into hundreds and thousands and the world did not stop spinning, no one was struck down by lightning. It is just not a big deal and the people making all the protest seem to be attention seekers.

These posts here are so lame that call any one against same *** marriage bigots. It''s so stupid. Marriage came about to protect women and children and it was about reproduction. Mostly marriage is and always has been a religious act. It''s only because our society has become twisted and far removed from the natural world that this silly nonsense is even an issue. A small number of oddballs want this so they can feel legitimate and draw attention to themselves. Same thing with pushing and pushing to get Christian Churches to except them. G*A*Y people have every right the rest of us do to marry the person of the opposite *** of their own choosing. I am so sick of all this *** I could puke. It''s fringe culture forcing everyone else to kneel to to their god of self centered rubbish. The emperor has not farkin cloths!

The odd thing is that this topic has nothing to do with any religion or religious beliefs, but the zealots feel compelled to think that it does. So they come here and camp out on the thread, seeking to stamp out any support for civil rights and equality.

I imagine their grandfathers started out by doing much the same general thing when people owned families of slaves in the south, and their great grandfathers when they tortured and killed Jewish and gay people at the concentration camps, and their great great great X 5 grandfathers did during the Inquisition.

Religious bigotry - the crux of evil in our time and times past.

Mankind will always find a way to do what feels good. Just because something feels good does not make it right. Next there will be multiple marriages and marriages to animals. It is a downward spiral. *** know it is wrong, they ignore their conscience because it has been seared. This is something the Bible has talked about for a long time, this stuff is not new. It''s just not bad enough yet for God to judge, He is very patient and loving, but He does judge and He is waiting for those to turn to Him. Homosexuality does not get people into hell, rejection of Jesus does.

God is not miserable....on the contrary, He is full of joy, His is longsuffering, patient, kind, full of compassion and slow to anger. He is SLOW to anger, but He can definitely get there. I know Him personally.......why don''t you?

In both San Francisco and Beverly Hills, where two women became the first same-*** couple in Los Angeles County to marry legally, small groups of protesters waved signs with sayings like "Repent or Perish." They were outnumbered by supporters waving rainbow-striped flags.

The righteous are always outnumbered......"wide is the gate and broad is the way and many go in this way, but it leads to destruction......but narrow is the gate and difficult is the way that leads to life."

The celebrations are tempered by the reality that in a few months, Californians will go to the ballot box to vote on an initiative that would overturn the high court ruling and again ban gay marriage.

A chance for redemption.

jeff,

Proof: The Nation of Israel wouldn''t even exist and there would be no such people as the Jews if it weren''t for God Almighty. He gave them their name. He gave them Israel.

He also said they would be scattered throughout all nations before being returned to their homeland of Israel after being tremendously persecuted, and guess what, the Holocaust happened and in 1948 the nation of Israel was reborn, and the Jews have been gathering back to their homeland just as the Bible predicted would occur, 2,700 years ago by the prophecies of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and others.

you cannot prove anything..you have just fallen for the biggest lie in the history of the world...we all feel for you.

If you feel that Jesus Christ is the "biggest lie in the history of the world" , then you have already let the devil win in your life. It''s that simple.

There''s no reason to "feel for me", because I know where I''m going when I leave this joint called Earth, do you?
