I should be able to marry my dog if I really want to!

Is your dog a consenting adult? I doubt it but if it is, then go for it.

Maybe it''s cuter then his girlfriend?

A legal precedent is being established that will in the future eventually make it legally impossible to deny a:

* brother marrying sister as long as they are consenting adults, and they dont try to conceive their own children

* 1 man marrying multiple husbands

* father marrying daughter as long as they are consenting adults, and they dont try to conceive their own children.

oh you best believe that this is coming and the push will be on to tolerate it and make it law. as long as they love each other it should be okay and nobody''s business. someone that sees nothing wrong with more than one spouse or even marry their pets will be next on the agenda.

Incestuous marriage (in spite of your fetishistic fascination with it) is and will remain a crime. Allowing gay marriage will not change that. As for multiple partners in marriage, that''s still criminal, but I''d have no problem with it.

And purely from a business stand point gay marriage will pour tens of millions of dollars into the local economy here in LA just for the weddings and receptions themselves. The reception halls all around here, including many in churches, are actively seeking the gay business as are the florists, wedding planners, etc.

Exactly! And it''ll help the economy too! I see this as a "win win" for everyone with an "open mind".

Sooner or later this issue will reach the supreme court. here''s hoping the justices actually rule on the constitution merits of the case and not on the right wing/religious leanings of some of them.

And this is the attitude we should all take.
We really have to lighten up in this country and embrace each other. We be a much better nation, don''''t you think?

Rands, you have no defense and no logic and therefore you are not qualified to render any opinions that you don''''''''t comprehend.
Posted by mudrose at 01:48 PM : Jun 17, 2008

Like I said, no logical answer at all.
Posted by SgtRDS-E4 at 01:51 PM : Jun 17, 2008

Mudrose doesn''t have any logical argument to oppose g@y marriage. But it''s unfair to expect mudrose to come up with this argument that no judicial ruling in the nation has yet to produce. That is why we are seeing these amendments to ban g@y marriage because the U.S. Constitution as written provides no reason to treat g@y marriage differently from heterosexual.

At first I thought the idea of gay marriage seemed really strange, but now I''ve gotten use to the idea and I really don''t see what the big deal is. The people who are against same *** marriage haven''t, in my opinion, given a valid reason why we should deny them the right to marry. Wasn''t it just a few decades ago that we had this very same debate about the rights of inter-racial couples getting married? Now it seems silly that it was such a big deal, but back then you had the same "Christians" waving the Bible around and quoting obsure passages that they decided meant the races shouldn''t mix.
These right-winged religious types have argued that marriage is so people can produce children. That''s ridiculous! What about people who can''t conceive? What about older people (past the birthing age) who marry? I guess their marriages are invalid to these people.
It just seems to me that their arguements are stictly biblical. They always refer to Leviticus, but it''s the same book that tells you to kill your children if they back-talk you. These right-wing Christians (not all of us Christians are right-wing, by the way) like to hunt and peck only parts of the Bible that they can use to bash other people with.
Finally, when I''m spending my ''extra'' money on trying to fill up my gas tank, gay marriage really doesn''t seem that important to me.

Join the pride parade.

OBAMA 08!

Were you at the West Hollywood Pride Parade 2 weeks ago Tracy? My wife and I usually go but skipped it this year because it''s too crowded. Still it''s nice to know that you enjoy them and that you support Barack Obama. Thanks for your support.

My wife and I eat at a wonderful West Hollywood restaurant at least a few times a month for breakfast and they had a sign up the other day that said something like "Congratulations GLBT''''s for the right to get married!" and it was sponsored by a marriage counseling service. LOL!

I would bet many "neocons" feel the same as me.... or am I an anomaly?

Don''''t you know? The mere fact that gay people exist and get married is enough to thoroughly upset a neocon. Imagine - something beyond a neocon''''s control. They must be livid! "What!? Gay people are getting married without my approval???"

Now watch the neocons as the the comparisons of gay marriage to illegal things come flying: "well, if we allow gay marriage, why can''''t I marry my dog?". LOL.

Like a said, not a single logical answer. None at all. If straight people can choose to get married then why can''t a gay couple? Muddy just can not answer that simple question.
