There are exceptions. A few years back, a small group of professors and their wives, and some local Drs. decided they could teach their children better than the public schools, so they created a co-op and collectively home-schooled their own children. All those children probably did recieve a better education than would have been provided in the public schools, but most people aren''t professors and Drs.

Homeschooling . . .Posted by mitchoncbs

You are right. I don''t think any one person (average person) has the knowledge or ability to educate a child to be competitive and have the knowledge and skills to seek and keep decent employment when coming from a home schooling atmosphere. The same goes if said child or children desires to seek higher education.

I work at a University and have been involved in Concurrent Enrollment, and children who come from Home Schooling generally just can''t cut it.

You are forgiven. I am so sick and tired of all that garbage that Al2008 posts on every website every day, I have every intention of repudiating it every time I see it. So, I apologize, if you get tired of reading my posts, then tell AL 2008 we don''t want to see his. I really was highly aggitated yesterday when he said, "YOU will learn to live responsibly." If AL 2008 is Al Gore or someone he pays to post on these sites, then I would like to hear from him about his lifestyle and how he justifies it whil telling the rest of us to cut down. Especially the part about the CO2 taxes and how the taxes will cut C02 by 80 percent. The most CO2 that is currently emmited is out of China. Does Al have a plan to mandate that China cut their C02? How does he plan to do that? The whole thing is a big hypocritical C R O C K of
C R A P!!!

CAN ANYONE REMEMBER 4 YOUNG MEN DIED!!!!
This isn''t about politics or religion, it isn''t about anything other than the fact that a group of young men went through this and four boys, doing something they loved, were killed by a storm. For all of the flaws within the leadership of the BSA, the training and responsibility that the Boy Scouts had given these Scouts prevented a far greater loss of life and injuries. Could we have responded after this, in the dark, any better as adults. "May the great Scoutmaster of all scouts be with us until we meet again." YIS

minnick8, by home schooling her children, she is taking away the most important factor in a child%u2019s life, and that is socializing with others. Unless she is training them to be call center associates....I know a lot of kids that were home schooled, and they lack the fundamental ability to work productively with others....the majority of them think they are above everyone else.....

I''ll repeat the part you didn''t read:

Al, Al, Your posts are so boring and redundant. Climate change has been going on since the earth was created. It has been estimated that the earth is about 4.5 billion years old. People came on the scene about 30,000 years ago which if you compare the time element to a 24 hour clock, puts peoples'''' influence during the last ten minutes of time. What do you say about all the climate changes that occurred before man''''s influence?

Yesterday, you said, "You will learn to live responsibly." I said that I live in a 600 sq. ft. apartment 3 blocks from work, and I drive a 1999 Ford Aspire. It has been years since I took off on any kind of a road trip.

I asked you to tell us about your last three vacations, and tell us about your house. You never answered.

Why won''t you tell us?

gopsoccermom is a sinner for being on here judging people. gopsoccermom is a sinner for having children out of wedlock, because from her posts, who the heck would want to marry her. Six children huh? Must be from six different fathers, or they are all the same age.

If you read my post, you would see that I was quoting Al 2008, and I was repudiating him, not endorsing his ***.

minnick8, come up with something different and quit repeating the same old cr@p on here. You are so bent into thinking this ia all caused by global warming, why not do some research and find out that every generation has to witness the power of mother nature since records were being kept. Tornado outbreaks have been happening for thousands of years, it is called a "cycle" and nothing else. You are so determined to think one sided, you are missing the whole picture....

Scout salute 1. bugler sound off. 2. May the great master of all scouts be with us all until we meet again. My Heart goes out to the Scouts, Troops, Leaders and their families. As a former scout leader I know how upseting this must be. I couldn''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''t imagine the pain that must be. Once again my condonlences. From an Eagle Scout and Retired Scout master. God bless.

to all the boys, scout master, voluteers, and parents of the boys who went out to have fun learning, hiking and have an adventure,,,,,I pray for strength, understanding, and comfort in this terrible tragedy. no child deserves to be scared, scared, hurt, or the feeling of being alone.

we must all put our energies toward these children and all those who have and will be affected by this loss.

We the people call upon the governor to implement a comprehensive antiglobal warming strategy at once and work in coordination with state and federal officials; these tornadoes and storms continue to worsen and the quicker we stop the warming the sooner we will see these storms cease. We need action now.

Hey, soccermom, never say never. I''''ve seen how those moms on the sidelines look at those young, strong, vibrant soccer coaches with those enticing accents.
Posted by drputt45

I don''t know why people make fun of soccer moms. Soccermoms or any moms who are involved with their children in numerous kinds of activities from home work, to any sports or dance or music are busy raising the next generation of functional adults. They should be applauded. Children who are left to raise themselves are the ones who end up in gangs and ultimately prison. They are the ones the rest of us spend our lives supporting in the prison system. Raising children to be funnctional adults who work and pay taxes and contribute to society is important and honorable work. I always had to work when my kids were young, and I felt very fortunate to have been able to find people who cared for my children as I would have if I hadn''t been in the work force.

Hey gopsoccermom:

%u201CDo not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you (Matthew 7:12).%u201D

You are sinning right now by lying and saying you are perfect. Only God is perfect. You are far from it.
