I think you have it backwards. Those advocating gun control seem to mean banning of guns. Have you listened to obama''s speeech about disarming the U.S. That will start a civil war. I am not giving up my guns to anyone and now especially th govt.

Thank you. Law abiding citizens with guns are not the problem, except for cases like that grandma whose grandchild shot herself at a Walmart and others like it. (another story) Ownership of a firearm is a HUGE reponsibility, and most law-abiding citizens know that.

Fortunately, I have never been in a position where I needed to use a firearm to protect myself or my family, but if I were, I would not hesitate. If someone comes in my house unannounced at 2am, I''m shooting first, and asking questions later.

Some people obviously see things in black and white and miss the whole point of gun control. OF COURSE anything can be used as a weapon, and yes, yes we know, guns don''t kill, people do. But the point of gun control is not to ELIMINATE violence, only to REDUCE violence and the level of damage of each violent incident. That is why the public not allowed to buy Stinger missiles, tanks, fighter jets, etc. After all, why shouldn''t you be able to? The 2nd Amendment says you have to right to bear arms, nothing about what KIND of arms. Why aren''t you complaining to the government about not being able to buy grenade launchers? Now get this: the reason you can''t buy them is because of the LEVEL of damage they can cause, and the government wants to keep that level to a minimum. See the shades of gray there? "Gun-rights" people like to equate gun control with gun ban. This is a false argument. We can argue all day about the level of control, and that''s the way it should be. But all this talk about your guns being taken away is just crying wolf.

I hve lived in Missouri, Texas, Lousiana, and Nevasa. I hav a high respect for all police. Yes thereare some bad cops but i still think the majority are trying to do a great job. That is one reason i wnt to college and obrained my degree. We have to change peoples attitudes. To do that we have to show we are not the bad guys. I don''''t know where you live but it sounds like tere is a serious problem in the community between the police andd the people living there. It will not be resolved unles both sides work together.
