"Fed Chairman Says High Unemployment, Skyrocketing Gas Prices Belie The Economy''s Strength"

With a statement like that, he should be fired immediately!!! Stock markets should be crashing around the world knowing someone this stupid, blurting out such blatantly obvious misinformation, is in charge of the Fed.

Son''t worry ***hole, all those fixed incomers and people losing their jobs should have know problem paying their mortgage, especially now that it is so easy to sell a house.

For the last couple of years the fed has cut interest rates and the banks have mostly sat on them and not passed them along to consumers. The fed is about to start raising them now with an eye towards controlling inflation, anyone want to bet these will find their way into consumers pockets within days of the action?

I%u2019m sure that as long as this cadaverous looking ******%u2019s bank account is in the black, there couldn%u2019t possibly be any problem. We%u2019re in a full-blown recession and the f.ucknut thinks the economy is recovering? I%u2019ll believe this fiscal retar.d when we hit rock bottom and there%u2019s nowhere left to go but up.

From the AP: ''Trade deficit jumps to highest level in 13 months''

---"The Bush administration after tacitly accepting the decline in the dollar for years as a necessary ingredient to boost U.S. exports has switched signals. Officials are now talking about the need for a stronger dollar, a reflection of the pain being inflicted on Americans by high gasoline prices"---

Geez, doesn''t sound like they''re as in control as they claim, does it? Ugh!

Modern conservatism is a morally and economically bankrupting philosophy that espouses the insane belief that the answer to every economic problem is to simply shift more money from the hands of the working class to the already full pockets of the super-wealthy and the equally insane belief that we can borrow our way to prosperity.

Of course, the die-hard neocons are absolutely certain despite all evidence to the contrary that those huge tax breaks given to the super-wealthy are eventually going to trickle down to the rest of the country. If, when the trickle reaches you, it looks and smells like urine, that''s because it is.

Thanks for voting Republican.

If I were driving to economic summit meetings in limos and custom tailored three piece suits eating fillet mignon and sipping fine merlots over lunch, guess I would have trouble getting psyched up about economic downturns too.

It defies economics 101 to lower interest rates in a time of inflationary pressures. If interest rates were raised, this would help the dollar. The weaker the dollar is, the more pressure there is on oil prices as well. Except this imbecile is trying to address the housing crisis and forgetting that there is an entire economy at large to take care of.

I yen for the days of a Federal Reserve that was proactive and not reactive like the one we have now that is helping to ruin this country and it''s economy to help bail out a bunch of corrupt bankers.

Another idiot automaton in an administration where minuscule intelligence is sought after and rewarded.

The Idiot-In-Chief is wasting millions of tax dollars on a meaningless trip (vacation) to Europe while half of the people in this country say their quality of life has been reduced by higher energy and food prices.

It would be nice if these were only the people who voted for him, but unfortunately that is not the case.

223 days, 16 hours, and 22 minutes to go.

Prove you''re insane, vote for McCain.
