Thank you to George Bush and the neocons for the $4.00 gasoline. I''m not saying gasoline wouldn''t have risen in price without their screw-ups, it just wouldn''t be $4.00 yet. It''d be lower, maybe high $2''s or $3.

.. Budget deficits have lowered value of the U.S. dollar, thus making imports more expensive.
.. Crude oil price rises with uncertainty in the Middle East. No one has stirred that pot more than George Bush.
.. Probably should have had mileage standards earlier.
.. Ethanol production saves no energy. Period.
.. Bush and the Repubs OWNED Congress from 2001 through 2006. There''s no excuse that we have no new refineries and no new nuclear power.
.. Let''s face it: Bush and Cheney were oil men. Whatever happened in Cheney''s secret meetings with the oil companies was planned to increase oil company profits.

Naturally, there is no single cause for $4 gasoline.
