Former Funnyman Al Franken Gains Nod From Minnesota Democrats Despite Uproar Over Past Jokes
- Is Al Franken any less or more qualified than Jesse Ventura was for governor? I understand Jesse was very well respected during his time as governor.

- enjoyed the 2006 laughingstocks and this Nov. 2008 is shaping up even better. Just look at the Republicans that are jumping off the stage...

I think they are not wasting their $stockpile on McCain who, if he did win, would probably not be re-electable, or might even die in office.
A lot of Repubs are NOT buying the idea of FIVE MORE YEARS in Iraq. - Reply to this comment

Yes, Bill did leave us with a good economy; but he was still the best republican president since Lincoln. He came from a "blue collar" background but did more for the wealthy and screwwed the blue collar workers and as the rest of us who aren''t wealthy.
Hillary grew up in a well-to-do conservative family and she started out in politics as a conservative and still has leanings to the right, and supports the war. He success to date is, IMHO, due to hanging on to Bill''s coat tails.
I don''t particularily like Obama; he wasn''t my first choice. But I don''t believe he is a racist or a terrorist. There''s no basis for me to believe that.
People are already losing their jobs and homes. Is that Obama''s fault? Or Bush''s fault? If people are going to revolt then neither Obama nor McCain can stop them. Although McCain would order the military to just shoot them.
I liked Powell (even though he''s a republican) until I realized how much he knew about the flawed evidence but didn''t have the courage to speak out against a flawed administration. He wore the uniform and I give him credir for that but we don''t need a political coward for president.
I''ve never voted republican, republicans don''t represent me, and I''m not going to throw my vote away by voting independent just because I don''t like Obama.
If you are a Democrat and vote independent then you might as well vote for McCain and war. - Reply to this comment

I agree. I don''t think it is going to be the Republicans who are laughing in November. They have consistantly backed and covered for a president that lied, manipulated intellegence, and bullied people, to get us into this insane war, and thousands of Americans are dead and wounded as a result. The Republicans have lost their moral compass and their days are numbered. - Reply to this comment

- I have listened to Al Franken speak on serious subjects. Iraq, WMDs and such, and upon checking on some of the "facts" that he spews, I have found him to be intentionally dishonest on many ocasions.
His deciets have often been shocking. - Reply to this comment
