Former Funnyman Al Franken Gains Nod From Minnesota Democrats Despite Uproar Over Past Jokes
- Is Al Franken any less or more qualified than Jesse Ventura was for governor? I understand Jesse was very well respected during his time as governor.

I think they are not wasting their $stockpile on McCain who, if he did win, would probably not be re-electable, or might even die in office.
A lot of Repubs are NOT buying the idea of FIVE MORE YEARS in Iraq. - Reply to this comment

Yes, Bill did leave us with a good economy; but he was still the best republican president since Lincoln. He came from a "blue collar" background but did more for the wealthy and screwwed the blue collar workers and as the rest of us who aren''t wealthy.
Hillary grew up in a well-to-do conservative family and she started out in politics as a conservative and still has leanings to the right, and supports the war. He success to date is, IMHO, due to hanging on to Bill''s coat tails.
I don''t particularily like Obama; he wasn''t my first choice. But I don''t believe he is a racist or a terrorist. There''s no basis for me to believe that.
People are already losing their jobs and homes. Is that Obama''s fault? Or Bush''s fault? If people are going to revolt then neither Obama nor McCain can stop them. Although McCain would order the military to just shoot them.
I liked Powell (even though he''s a republican) until I realized how much he knew about the flawed evidence but didn''t have the courage to speak out against a flawed administration. He wore the uniform and I give him credir for that but we don''t need a political coward for president.
I''ve never voted republican, republicans don''t represent me, and I''m not going to throw my vote away by voting independent just because I don''t like Obama.
If you are a Democrat and vote independent then you might as well vote for McCain and war. - Reply to this comment

I agree. I don''t think it is going to be the Republicans who are laughing in November. They have consistantly backed and covered for a president that lied, manipulated intellegence, and bullied people, to get us into this insane war, and thousands of Americans are dead and wounded as a result. The Republicans have lost their moral compass and their days are numbered. - Reply to this comment
- I think it is past time for us to have a real professional in the senate.

- I have listened to Al Franken speak on serious subjects. Iraq, WMDs and such, and upon checking on some of the "facts" that he spews, I have found him to be intentionally dishonest on many ocasions.
His deciets have often been shocking. - Reply to this comment
- As if there were not enough comedians in the senate already.

I would have supported Hillary based on the fact that Bill left us with the best economy we had had in a long time. Who do you think was running things while Bill was occupied else where ? I do not support McCain because he will not end the war. I now plan to vote third party and wait for the revolution to begin. I think obama is a racist and a terrorist. If he is elected i expect to see our govt colappse completely and a civil war rto follow. People are losing their jobs, homes daily and when they canot feed their families they will revolt. I am not against obama because he is black, hell he isn''t even black, i don''t support him because of his associations and what i believe his views to be. If the DNC had run someone qualified like Colin Powell i would have voted for him. Colin showed he was intelligent, he didn''t want to be incharge of cleaning up this mess. - Reply to this comment

- I think Al is a dam*ed good comic and an even better strategist. He takes the issues seriously and doesn''t take cr*p off anyone. Who cares if he started out writing for SNL? He''s informed and unlike a lot of officials who have been involved in the political scene much longer, he''s humane and cares about key issues. How much is a quality like THAT worth?

I find it ironic that you, a republican, would use humor from a famous Democrat to slander another famous Democrat. LOL!!! The two statements are diametrically opposed.
Some famous Will Rogers political quips:
"With Congress, every time they make a joke it''s a law, and every time they make a law it''s a joke."
"I don''t make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts."
"Liberty doesn''t work as well in practice as it does in speeches."
"The short memories of American voters is what keeps our politicians in office."
"I''m not a member of any organized political party. I''m a Democrat."
"There isn''t any finer folks living than a Republican that votes the Democratic ticket." - Reply to this comment
