Apparently your head is so far up Limbaugh''s azz that you don''t know that oil is sold on the world market, regardless of where it has been drilled. - Reply to this comment
- mudrose, you are pretty stupid if you think people in this country will sell their oil at a discount pprice of foreign oil. Heres a clue for you. ALL PRAISE GEORGE THE BLESSED AS HE TOSSED THE SACRIFICIAL DOLLAR UNDER THE HOLY BUS!

Maybe we should give the super-rich another tax cut. They''re probably really hurting right now.
Thanks for voting Republicon.- Reply to this comment
- You Limbaugh listeners keep drinking the man''''s kool-aide. There is no shortage, thus all this stupid talk about drilling etc, doesn''''t fit the scenario.

Oil inventories are at an 8 year high while refiners have reduced capacity from 95% to 89% and finally to 85% in order to maintain the price of gasoline. US consumption is also down 5.6%. - Reply to this comment

- denn034, thats right. It certianly has nothing to do with the value of the US dollar that fell because of the huge deficits created. Its all the liberals fault.

- You Limbaugh listeners keep drinking the man''s kool-aide. There is no shortage, thus all this stupid talk about drilling etc, doesn''t fit the scenario. If drilling was the solution, then the problem would be you waiting in a long, long, long, long line at the gas pump - on an odd or even day. When Americans cut back on their use of gas, the oil companies deliberately restricted supplies to keep the price artificially high. If you can''t see what is going on, then continue listening to your gawd Limbaugh.

- Increased costs have forced small businesses, who''re responsible for 80% of our economic growth, have had to let employees go to remain profitable. People blame Bush for this when in fact it''s OPEC raising the prices per barrel of oil and refusing to lower them that''s creating the problem as well as oil companies refusing to lower their profit margins in the face of increased costs to keep the prices low that''s doing it. We can''t force OPEC to lower it''s prices but, we can force oil companies to lower their profit margins and thereby the price of gas. Here''s hoping Congress forces them to lower their profit margins so, our economy can get back on track and reemploy those that were downsized.

- If drilling had NOT been prohibited, how much would be left there today.
Wouldn%u2019t we be in the exact same position we are in now, except that THAT oil would no longer be an option?

If drilling weren''t prohibited we would be able to use our reserves today. Jobs would have been created just like the Great Alaskan Pipeline which the Caribou nestle up to to have their young because the lines give off heat. Imagine that jobs, energy, new technologies and the oil companies giving back to the people. But NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, let''s have the Dimnowits and the EPA squeeze the ***** out of the American people because what would it be if they can''t regulate Americans and industry up the wazoo. - Reply to this comment

Well since Israel to Iran is a Stinking Corpse, then they better get ready for somethinking really smelly their way is coming. And they want U.S. support backing them. Got my vote. - Reply to this comment
%u201C%u201DSorry but the Bush Administration didn''''t sign no refining and no drilling laws into effect. It was the Clintoon administration and with the EPA the closed off all off-shore and Anwar drilling. The Dimnowits and their IT''''S BUSH''''S FAULT, fallacy, don''''t account for the fact that it is they that are impoverishing the American people. So if we can''''t drill off shore and we can''''t refine oil that we have here in America and we''''ll just have to wait until the Congress passes new laws into effect to regulate the American people up the Wazoo, then and only then will the Dimnowit dumbed down dupes be happy. But for now let''''s make sure we all sing in unison IT''''S BUSH''''S FAULT. Gee, wonder who they''''re gonna blame afterwards.

Subterfuge, deceit, name-calling and insults as usual.
Drilling in these areas has been banned/avoided since long before The Clinton administration and, offshore drilling is only prevented in delicate areas.
Building of new Refineries has NEVER been banned, only regulated to insure the least amount of pollution.
How much oil has the United States used since drilling in Anwar and some offshore areas was first denied?
How much oil is in the banned areas?
If drilling had NOT been prohibited, how much would be left there today.

In the context of such robust development progress and the heavy U.S. engagement in contributing to it, the Global Poverty Act adds little of value but could mistakenly convey implicit U.S. support for the broader range of statist economic bromides in fashion at the U.N., chief of which is that developed countries should provide 0.7 percent of their gross domestic product annually to developing countries. Such a commitment would require U.S. taxpayers to fund foreign aid at more than quadruple current levels, at an amount of $100 billion per year. There is scant evidence that such a sum is necessary or, if provided, would actually promote development.
This is the bill. Let''s just toss $100 billion here and then another $100 billon for universal health care and then all b/itch about the War Funding. - Reply to this comment
