FeelFree4U, I''m no fan of this administration either, but Gates took office December 18, 2006, long after the war was started and after most of not all of the things that might possibly be considered war crimes were done. Do you have specific evidence that he has engaged in activities counter to the code of military justice? If so, you should cite them before calling for the death penalty for the man. If you don''t, you are just as bad if not worse than George W; he too is careless with the facts and does not let the truth get in the way of his ideology.

Tom_gwynn,

re: "Gates, on the other hand, does not hesitate to fire the people in charge when they screw up,..."

Plus, he is a war criminal and should rightly be hanged along with the rest of the regime.

Wow. Over 10 pages of comments and 99% of them have nothing to do with this article. How about we do something original and actually return to the topic?

I think we are seeing here that Gates is not Rumsfeld. Rumsfeld never held anyone of rank accountable for anything, not even something as profoundly damaging to the US as Abu Ghraib. Gates, on the other hand, does not hesitate to fire the people in charge when they screw up, which is a refreshing change in this administration. He fired the commanders in charge of Fort Braggs barracks, and now (after a fair investigation) he has apparently decided that losing track of 6 nuclear weapons and classified nuclear fuses is also a firing offense. As a citizen and taxpayer I can only agree, and I wish Mr. Gates had replaced Rumsfeld much earlier in this war.

Gates told me my nuke was in the mail. I hope the recent news doesn''t change things.

If you did your own research, you might be less stupid. Then again, maybe not.

I give it a 50/50 chance that they are going to bomb Iran.

Considering FeelFree is obsessed with "toe-tappers" and "phalluses" the picture comes as no surprise as to being one of FeelFree''s favorites.

What a mind.
