Conservatives Vow To Counter Paterson's Memo Ordering State To Recognize Gay Marriages
- Admit it - you want to be G~A~Y!
All you homophobes want to be G~A~Y - The more you protest the more you want to be G~A~Y!

- G*A*Y people are not the same as Black Folks or Jews. A behavior is not a state of being. You can choose not to have relations with the same gender but you can'' choose to be Black or Chinese. I am sick or the Pseudo-science saying people are born G*A*Y. It''s not so. Most science shows it''s a set of factors that makes someone choose the same gender for a relationship. People who were abused as children tend to abuse children when they are parents. Should we except that as normal? Pedophiles are said to have a very strong attraction to children they can''t shake. Should we except that as normal and let them molest children. NO!

- G*A*Y people have the right to marry someone of the opposite *** just like the rest of us so there is no discrimination. This is a culture was Gov. Patterson. I will NEVER agree to same s*e*x marriage. I live in Western New York and out here we are sick and tired of depraved New York City culture being rammed down our throats! Let the same s*e*x couples have civil unions and stop there.

- While I can cite principles such as equal protection under the law, reciprocity (in this case), the right to privacy, discrimination decisions, etc., I haven''''t been able to come up with a single legal argument that supports the concept of marriage as being limited to a contract between one man and one woman. If someone has such an argument, I''''d truly like to hear it.

That''s because there isn''t one. There are the religious arguments, but there is not one single argument to be made that isn''t based on some conservative reading of the Bible. - Reply to this comment

I''m with you, but intelligent debate seems to get overlooked. - Reply to this comment
- Come on Charlieot, you would like to think this is simply a legal matter, but you know it is not. The religous folks would do EVERYTHING in their power to stop this from happening. Then, it is influenced in our laws...so...it is much deeper then a legal matter.

I know mjm121....
But I would like to see just one person who opposes gay marriage present an argument based in law or legal principles. So far, I haven''t see any (at any time, not just with this article). I''ve also admittedly seen precious few from those who favor gay marriage. It would be *far* more interesting if such a dialogue did occur. While I can cite principles such as equal protection under the law, reciprocity (in this case), the right to privacy, discrimination decisions, etc., I haven''t been able to come up with a single legal argument that supports the concept of marriage as being limited to a contract between one man and one woman. Although I agree with your point, the bible clearly states that slaves are okay. Why would they try and stop it. In fact, it was okay to strike your slave, even if they died (as long as they didn''t die the same day...) - Reply to this comment
- religion stood by while the Nazi''s murdered Jews ... while black people were enslaved in America ... when interracial marriage was illegal ... so what makes anyone think that religious zealots would ever consider the rights and humanity of anyone??

- A recent poll showed that more California voters now support allowing same-*** marriage than oppose it. The results, released Wednesday, marked the first time in over three decades of polling that more California voters have approved of extending marriage to gay couples than have disapproved, said Field Poll director Mark DiCamillo. "
Thats right, as these stuffy old religious reich far.ts die off, they are being replaced with more liberal, civil rights minded younger people who dont have a problem with what other people do. Just keep trying folks, eventually the religious reich will be overthrown and become a silent minority, they already lost considerable power and can no longer hang, burn, execute or jail people like the church DID. Heresy and blaspheny is no longer a JAILABLE "offense", neither is buybull burning, so get those buybulls out and burn the dam evil things! - Reply to this comment
