How come CBS does not show "real" statistics?
Rate base on cilvilian Population vs Military.
How many of the Military had Mental issues before joining.
How about other fields related to high stress, such as police?
Why don''t CBS use data charts?

so, you are saying that since your cousin got shot down in vietnam that mcvet should suffer the rest of his life with untreated ptsd?

Posted by jamesm12341 at 06:16 PM : May 29, 2008

What''s your background in military PTSD I asked you???
How do you know mcvet has PTSD rather than just being angry at the fact over 4000 troops have died for a war for oil?
How do you know jwind11? What experience do you have?? Come on, back up your accusations with facts!!!

let them hire and pay for those ********* services

mc cain needs to get away from bush and do whats right for US. if it were we the people it would be different but it''s power vs property. and prop. with oil, to some, is more valuable than life

Nobody ever said that war was supposed to be fun! Sometimes (like now) wars are necessary. War is ugly, people die in wars and nobody is supposed to LIKE war. This isn''t a war for oil, a war for fun or a GB revenge tactic ... get a clue folks! Terrorism is a world-wide threat and the reason we are sticking it out in Iraq is because if we leave before they achieve political and military independence there, Al Qeuida will over-run them and use the country as yet another terrorist stronghold. That is why we are still there! I feel for all the soldiers who are and have been over there fighting this war and my heart and prayers go out to all of them and their families. As for the suicides, that is just an indication of soldiers who were not well-adjusted before they ever got to Iraq and Afghanistan. World War II was much worse than this war and soldiers who fought it had a much lower suicide rate than that. Keep tearing your country and your leaders down and you will not have this country to kick-around much longer kids!

If number of suicides among active duty men in uniform & suicide attackers is compared, I don''t think War on Terror is justified.

Stop War, look for solution by justice & well being of people there, war can never help to build civil society.

Tell us what conflict you were in jwind11--come on--you Think you''re an authority on PTSD. How did you get through your tour of duty??
Come on --share----what branch of the military were you in--you must have served somewhere to know what you think you know.
Were you in Vietnam and your helicopter got shot down like my cousin?
Perhaps shot during the Korean war like my uncle--or have half your ship blown up during WW11?
Tell us jwind--you mouthy coward!

Insufficient new troops means the existing ones have to go back.

With the MSM reporting troops not getting treatment, being denied for it, and overall cuts to the VA being made (and had been before 2006), it''s no shock fewer are enlisting.

Those who serve our country do deserve better. Those who served Vietnam got better treatment when coming home (and that was pretty vile too).

In short, the truth is in the middle. I know there''s a lot of negative press, and I have to wonder why, of all things to cut and especially with the military budget, that VA is one of them. It makes no sense. At all.

LOL

His legacy is certainly secure!

935 lies.

4085 Dead Americans because of those lies.

$3 trillion squandered in Iraq!

Heckuva job Liar-in-Chief!

The only Army records immediately available go back to 1990, and show no year with a higher number of suicides than 2007. The figure in 1990 was 102.

Guess who was the President in 1990, yep you got it the father of the village idiot.

Figures, what a mess that whole family is.

So your assessment of my 20 years of service (to include Iraq) is again dead wrong. LMAO.

dragonwagon5 - a self admitted failure in the military and MCVet - a self admitted failure in life. I will always laugh at low lifes like yourself. You truly have no self worth and could not judge a cow pie throwing contest. So your assessment of my 20 years of service (to include Iraq) is again dead wrong. LMAO.

You simply do not have all the facts if you honestly believe the Iraqis are not fighting each and every day for their country.

Boy this guy does not sound as professional as any officer I''''ve served under. I''''d say 2nd lewy, tops. Certainly doesn''''t give a dam about troop suicide rates. What a lawn jockey. Posted by dragonwagon5

How is it an infantry officer can not be upset about high suicide in the military. I''''d think of all people YOU would be the first to raise a stink. Suicide is NOT part of the job. Posted by dragonwagon5

You are right - those suicides should have all of their benefits taken away. The easy way out.
