Federal Appeals Court Rejects Automatic Dismissal Of Openly Gay Service Members

Please define "unworthy", especially in accordance with Jesus'' and New Testament teachings. Unless I have completely misunderstood the teachings of My Savior Jesus Christ, the most unworthy were the Pharases, Publicans, Saduces and hypocrits. Jesus was there for the down trodden and sinners.
While homosexuality was not condoned by Jesus or the apostles, remember that Jesus forgave the woman "caught in the act of adultry" and on top of that sort of condemend her accusers with a simple statement of "let ye who hae not sinned cast the first stone.
Also, read Mathew 5, I beleive, where Jesus states "Judge how you wish to be judged." I really do wish others would choose leniency, as I have. - Reply to this comment
- Here''s to Justice/in every since of the word for Maj.Margaret Witt...She had better be re-instated with all of her accolades, years of service and be able to be re-employed to whatever duties she was assigned to before she was discharged-illegally/re-instating her full-retirement benefits & time frame of her career. It is none of anyone''s business or concern to burn this dedicated military health professional or anyone else, as far as this is concerned because of private issues! That was the basis of establishing the-Don''t Ask/Don''t Tell Policy..to get around the feeble minded in this country-for our service people to able to do their job without interference/but people have warped that arrangement to benefit their warped homophobic ways to get rid of priceless individuals that are serving for this nation''s liberties and safety!

- I strongly oppose the gay lifestyle, but even i don''t think she should''ve been discharged just because she was gay. I''m pretty sure that being gay didn''t affect her job performance and when it comes the job thats all that matters. this is an issue that should''ve been a none issue.

- JoeCoolSwat, thank you for understanding. I guess she only interprets what she reads to her way of thinking. I hope not, but that''s how I perceive it. I wish everyone would learn to accept people for what they can add to their lives instead of looking at the perceived differences. Kind of reminds me of the religious group from the midwest that goes to soldiers'' funerals and makes Azzes of themselves and disrepects what sacrifices that soldier made so they can "express" themselves. God doesn''t hate Americans for accepting *** because most Americans can''t accept anything that makes them look inside themselves for truth.

- gopsoccermom, I wasn''t hinting at anything. I was downright asking. I have friends that were raised in a Christian, loving and God-fearing home. Two of them are gay and their parents love and accept them in spite of being gay. They both attend church, one in fact is in the choir, both are accepted in these churches and both sets of parents have accepted the "partners" into their families. Could you do this? WOuld you? It has nothing to do with being raised in a loving Christian home. It has to do with what they feel. You can''t make the children turn out like you want. They will be who they are, love who they choose and there is nothing you can do to change that. I only hope IF this happens in your family, you have enough love and acceptance in you that you will accept them as they are!!! I am not questioning whether any of your children will be gay, I''m questioning whether your love for your children will see you through anything.

- Hey,gopsoccermom, one more question to think about. Would you love one of your children if they turned out to be gay??? Or would you subject them to ignorance and try to turn them by way of shrinks, therapy and down right avoidance? Would you let them know that your love is unconditional or would you tell them that what they are is an abomination and they are not worth your love and respect? Think long and hard before answering. Would they know it''s ok to come to you with this or would they feel ashamed and lie and hide from you???
