These cops ARE criminals. They act just like the crips and bloods (or any other gang of criminals), beating and killing for revenge when one of "theirs" gets hurt. But cops are even WORSE than the average gang member because society lets them get away with it, and even encourages them to think of themselves as an "army" at "war on crime".

Yes komoncents(no such thing living variable lives with nothing in Komon) I agree there should be charges, but against whom? The firing is perfunctory and a given, especially with the police union, however the investigation must occur for charges both against the youths(if involved in a shooting) and the officers for the assaults at the "stop"//Kinda hard to sort out in the videotaped melee of blue shirts, who was who was kicking /doing/fisting/baton using etc.-lets hope there exists more than the justice meted out to pedophile priests who have yet to be jailed at all,or FDLS for the growth and indoctrination of female children into ********,no jailing there when the victim is a young female.

Cops are all potential murderers with licenses to beat, maime, or even kill their suspects. They take their jobs seriously when they put on that badge and gun, but when one of their corp gets killed, they go ballistic and take it out on anyone in their way. Duh!

They should not be ABOVE or BEYOND the same laws they are supposed to uphold and defend. They were caught on video so treat them like any other lawbreaker, prosecute them for criminal acts and put them behind bars where they will be greeted by wellwishers.

This is beyond outrageous - 3 guys get savagely beaten and the answer is to fire 3 of em ??? Of course the police have a tough job but who doesn''t, and which of us is allowed to go ballistic when our emotions run high on the job? What I see on the video is called aggravated assault and those involved should be charged accordingly, especially since these individuals are on our payroll and answer to us - not the other way around. Police should be held to an even higher standard than the rest of us to set an example of correct behavior as this kind of animalistic behavior fosters and encourages the same tenfold. If we do not hold police responsible, be wary of being treated in much the same manner as the despicable actions recorded for all the world to witness, and wallow in the shame inflicted with us.

Assault and battery is a crime, a felony, punishable by time in prison, unless, of course, you''re a cop.

I think cops that break the law should be treated like the criminals they are.

"The Philadelphia Police Department and the City of Philadelphia are acting responsibly in taking action against these police officers for their misconduct!"
I agree, and further applaud Shirley Creighton in her short interview as supportive of the police commissioner''s office to investigate further and take appropriate action rather than jump the gun. No need for trigger happy solutions to solve the impulsive actions shown so far. Doing so will only polarize, and blow things ridiculously out of the already current horrendous porportions. Too much haste will leave a trail of additional human waste(we''ve witnessed already) if punishment is meted out prior to the needed fact-finding investigation.

Right ... If a person evades the government or is wanted on suspicion of a crime, it is permissible to beat them -- just like we do to those "enemy combatants."

They were beating on scum not on grandma waking her grandkids.

It sounds to me like there were enough police present that they should have been able to make a lawful arrest without excessive use of force!

The Philadelphia Police Department and the City of Philadelphia are acting responsibly in taking action against these police officers for their misconduct!

Rarely, do officials even make the attempt to ''do what''s right'', instead attempting to cover-it-up or suppress it. The pertinent officials should be praised for the handling of this case!

"If I see red lights behind me, I pull over and keep my hands on the wheel. I have never been pulled from my car and beaten by the cops."
All in good time Tramplers.I was arrested for having a seizure in public and making a accomodation to get out of seizure inducing lighting. Seizures have been known to occur to those using and abusing alcohol and drugs. I was roughed up by police. I have epilepsy and had epilepsy surgery in 2002 and still seizure after epilepsy surgery, but not 35-50 times a day like I was pre-surgery. Police, as humans, interpret reasons behind peoples actions in illegal light, always as is their training. They did not see me, they saw something else. This can occur to you, dont kid yourself. Beauty and crime is in the eye.

people...you need to keep in mind that there was a murder of an officer a few days before. I have a few cops as clients and I have asked many times why does this always seem to happen. they are on overload. they want to capture the scum that killed their partner.

another question if everyone on here is so high and mighty what would you do in a situation like this when your emotions are running high? these people are brave enough to stand up and try to protect the law abiding citizens and then they gets some crazy kids who were involved in a shooting and trying to control the situation and it got out of hand.

"Your watching the down fall of the United States, when punks are given the benefit of the law.The only mistake the police made is not shooting the punks. The citizens will take care of it." Ha Ha!! I believe your advocating for the downfall of the constitution with this comment. Hilarious and while not a slam to the treat, totally cracker jack.

[It doesn''''t matter whether they were black or white or whatever! They are simple murdering thugs! Why does anyone care how they were treated?]
[Posted by mortal3 at 05:25 PM : May 19, 2008]

you sound like one of the characters from the old westerns who immediately jump to conclusions and assume someone is guilty ... ready to string them up on the tree w/ your trusty rope. this character is usually played by the guy w/ no teeth and can''t read.

is there actually a murder victim? does it tie to the weapon? was the weapon in the possession of the suspects? were there any witnesses to the crime?

they''re just suspects until you can answer all those questions. thank god for those who don''t think like you.
