Come on Americans, let politics end and the Hospital door how about it?
------------------
As I recall, the politics started when some troll started blaming Pres. Bush for the Iraq war deaths, and saying this is worse than anything Kennedy did.

After I pointed out that HILLARY CLINTON AND JOHN KERRY BOTH APPROVED THE WAR, including a BIG SPEECH BY HILLARY, I suggested that they should blame the Iraq war deaths on THE MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WHO VOTED FOR IT.

After that, their conversation focused on trying to defend Kennedy''s conduct after the accident at Chappaquiddick.

Mainly because they couldn''t really continue their Bush bashing, so they had to divert to an emergency bail-out topic...

Would you call that a FLAMEOUT???

Isn''t it odd if we state our opinion about things,we are considered '' self rightious,self-proclaimed christians, bitter shrews, right wing, left wing and any other name they throw out there...'' But it''s okay if they disagree with us and yet they don''t have one mean name to call themselves.

I see one thing I agree with sarge on is the old catoons. Didn''t let the kids watch much TV, but rather brought home some Foghorn Leghorn videos for them. We still enjoy watchin'' him sneak up on the dog with his cannasticator sticking out of the doghouse and giving him a nice healthy paddlin'' and then running away to teather length,....plus one inch. When and if they see a cartoon nowadays they complain like me about how lame they are.

Teddy did not dive down to save poor Mary Jo. If you can get the original reports of witnesses the old drunk''''s clothes were dry when he came back to his hotel alone.
------------------
Which raises an interesting question: Kennedy himself claimed that he SWAM across the several hundred feet of open water he had to cross to get to the hotel, which was located on AN ISLAND.

His own lawyers later reported that he dove into the water and swam back to his hotel to escape from their insistent requests for him to call the police (confidentiality laws at the time prohibited lawyers from calling the police - those laws WERE CHANGED because of Chappaquiddick).

HOW DID HE ARRIVE IN DRY CLOTHES if he just swam there?

My guess - they''re all lying, he had a hired boat and a car waiting on the other side, and he had plenty of money to buy the silence of all involved. Do you REALLY think a Kennedy would EXERT himself for ANYTHING???

Anyone who is capable of being "in shock" even while conversing with a hotel clerk at 2:30 am and then while socializing casually the next morning without giving anyone the slightest hint that he had escaped from a fatal car accident just last night

IS UNFIT TO HOLD PUBLIC OFFICE.

There is no need to condemn or defend him. The simple objective fact is that he caved in under pressure. Not trustworthy enough to hold office.

HE SAID SO HIMSELF IN HIS BLUBBERY TELEVISED "CONFESSION" THAT "THE PEOPLE DESERVE LEADERS THEY CAN TRUST."

This incident PROVED that he cannot be trusted to hold up under pressure.

HE SHOULD HAVE RESIGNED. But instead he left it up to the voters, knowing that he could BUY ALL THE VOTES HE NEEDS.

Was he still IN SHOCK then? Is he still IN SHOCK today, 35 years later? HE HAS HAD 35 YEARS TO COME TO HIS SENSES AND RESIGN FOR BEING UNFIT FOR OFFICE.

Ok then ... your thought process is clear now .. so its your contention that just because Teddy "may" have been in shock .. that absolves him of not contacting authorities and leaving this young woman to die until the following day AFTER he contacted his lawyer?

No, he was probably guilty, but I agreed with the jury. The DA''s office did not prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt, as was their burden. I''d have voted not guilty too.

People like dowjones20k drink their latte''s and pontificate to the rest of us because they feel so self rightious and deserving of their riches. They don''t sacrifice for their country, they feed off of it in the most predatory ways. The contribute nothing but immature opinions and a loathing for their fellow human beings that will only be brought to account when they meet their God. Not the one they worship (money), but the one that will judge them in hell.

such a whining little baby troll! you feel free to dispense judgement (along with a nice little temple tantrum) to those who disagree with you--everyone, basically.

little teddy was never rich--his family was, and he was just along for the ride. As a typical politician, he HAS sat on his backside and done nothing with his life but enrich himself at the public trough.
the kennedy-worshipers really didn''''t get their money''s worth with little teddy, so they invented this myth (similar to the bible stories that you love so much, randal) that he was some kind of "great" man.

what a laugh! and you poke fun at religious people. you are much more ridiculous than the bible-thumping christians with your own false kennedy religion.

if you want to jack-off on ted kennedy (like he jacks-off on jack), that is your own business, but do it in private, please! you''re embarrassing yourself.

pathetic!

I get it ... your thought process is exactly the same as the citizens here in MA that keep re-electing this bafoon.

You probably believe OJ was innocent too ..

Well how does one explain how they conveniently forgot about another human being in the same submerged vehicle they swam out of ... and then forgot to notify any authorities until the FOLLOWING day?

Really??

I struggle to find this tragic ... maybe more premeditated. I dont care how drunk he was.

Maybe reading comprehension was not one of your strong points? Was it?

The murder of Mary Jo was not an mere ''accident''. If Kennedy had brought the police back to the site that night, it would be an accident. Since he waited till the morning, and first called his lawyer before the police. That makes it no accident.

So beleive what you will .. maybe if this were your sister or relative you might research and find out the facts before arbitrarily claiming him innocent.
