Heck of a first and last name for that job. Only one worse would have been "Covetous".

If Mr. Powell were to try to run, it would , for the Democrats, be like shooting fish in a barrel, his lies, with pictures, to the UN about WMDs makes him a prime candidate to be in the front row of defendants in the war crimes trials that we are trying to make happen.

This is why he is "laying low" that sorry Uncle Tom is one of the Bush klan war criminals, one might even call him the modern day Goebbels.

"The only thing I question is that one of his goals is to ensure a high voter turnout among blacks for the November election. Would that still be his goal if Obama wasn''''t in the race?" Posted by GrammaWhamma

A traditional goal of such organizations has been to encourage "Black" voters to turn out, even when there have been no "Black" candidates, such groups have worked to rally votes against those who are the most antithetical to the cause of equality, so I would say that if the tradition holds, then the answer to your question is yes, the same goal would exist even if Mrs. Clinton were to miraculously get the nomination, as it is in the interests of everyone, especially "Black" citizens, to repudiate the fascists and racists that dominate the Republican party.

The future will tell if he is indeed willing and able to address the outstanding issues that are the modern face of racism, unequal access to business capital, unequal distribution of funding for public education, workplace discrimination, banking discrimination, and police brutality.

These problems require a leader who is unafraid to "rock the boat" who will call for whatever means within the scope of the NAACP''s influence to fight against, boycotts, demonstrations, the whole nine yards.

Will he be such a person? Or will he simply be another toothless figurehead, stepping softly so as not to make too many ripples in water that sorely needs rippling, in fact, that needs some serious waves?

We will know shortly, as we all need to make a stand now against the illegal war, and its damage to the economy, damage which disproportionately affects the "Black" community adversely, but also affects the nation as a whole.

Geez people...give the guy a chance. He might be good for the NAACP.

The only thing I question is that one of his goals is to ensure a high voter turnout among blacks for the November election. Would that still be his goal if Obama wasn''t in the race?

I thought this wasn''t supposed to be a racial race. But it sure has seemed to stir up racial tension. I doubt if this would be the case if Colin Powell was running instead of Obama.

Obama is not presidential material at this time and many people don''t trust him. Myself included.
