hey bro, seems you''re in a difficult place but your prose is moving - keep healthy and if you''re "there", get back real soon and we''ll be reading you in the New Yorker! - Reply to this comment

You are not a geek. You are a gutless maggot who should bne destroyed immediately. You contribute nothing to society. Like a black hole in space you suck everything in but never give anything back. Come back and talk your *** when you have served your country. - Reply to this comment

This man had serious mental problems caused by having five tours in combat. One tour is enough to mess with anyones mind. Where is your compassion for this marine ? Where is your graitude to the vets that fought for this country. The soldiers and marines never get to choose where they will serve. They are dedicated and follow oprders as they are trained to do. - Reply to this comment

- In response to "brianbwb" who said "Had the Republican president, not chosen to lie us into a war, then from where would the soldier have received PTSD?"
No $@#! Sherlock, don''t be so stupid, you are an idiot. The argument is who is responsible for Travis being dead now, not who is responsible for the war, or PTSD, it was Travis''s decision to pull the trigger of a gun pointed to his head. Travis is at fault for his own death, no one else shot him or forced him to shot himself. Please people, stop being so ignorant and stop pointing fingers and making accusations for which you lack any hard evidence because you where in no way involved in the life of this person. - Reply to this comment
- It is a stain on this nation''s honor that the Department of Veterans Affairs has become a deadlier and more difficult adversary to the American veteran than any they have ever faced on a battlefield." --VNVets

- Smoker98, feel free to drive your own car into the Grand Canyon. It would be no loss to the world at large.
WAIT! I forgot about the pollution factor! Just eat some rat poison instead. (more appropriate) - Reply to this comment
- sueneely,
I know people who live in our cities who need that as well. - Reply to this comment
- PTSD means that the symapthetic nervous system is in overdrive. I doubt throwing 12 drugs at it will help.
Soldiers returning from assignment all need biofeedback and transitional winding down time. Otherwise, it''s easy to see how their lives would be like watching a horror movie before trying to sleep. - Reply to this comment
- Come on crusaders so the crusades mess with your head. You signed up for the military life, just do your time and then join Blackwater the Bush private army. Much better pay. Don''t forget your CIC had to give up GOLF. Remember that next time you see a buddy with his legs blown off, you won''t be able to play golf with him either.

- It is extremely unfortunate that our (American?) government is not willing to serve our soldiers with the same commitment as our soldiers are willing to serve America.

- I am sorry for the loss of another Marine and I understand the security that another tour offers. I also understand the comfort of the bottle. In 1969, no one knew what to call how some of us felt. We covered for others when someone hid in a bottle just as someone covered for us. I knew only that I had a problem being stateside. Even innocent sounds caused me to seek cover. I was usually armed and paranoid. Thankfully, I sayed in the Corps with others, some with the same fears and nightmares. In time, the nightmares stopped. I no longer seek cover or whirl around when a door slams, a car backfires, or a balloon pops. I no longer am continually armed. This condition, (PTSD), is not a short term experience that a couple of pills and a few hours with a shrink is going to return the person to a "normal" life. "Normal" has a whole new defintion for a combat vet. They don''t want to talk about what they have seen, they keep seeing it over and over again in their dreams. You just want to forget. You want the faces to be no longer recognizable. It was nearly thirty years until my last nightmare. I can''t watch "war movies" because they use to trigger flashbacks and I won''t risk testing that trigger now.
For those returning and thinking that no one else understands and that they are all alone, know there are others that understand. It will never be "normal" but it will be alright and it is survivable. It gets better in time.

How dare you comment on something you know nothing at all about.
What do you know about PTSD jwind11? Ever been in a war? Put on a uniform and fought for something you beleived in?
Your posts are *** because you don''t have the experience of knowledge to post on anything intelligent.
You are a pathetic coward--and your accomplishments (if any) pale in comparison to anything MCVet stands for--you pathetic coward. - Reply to this comment

Here are the thoughts of a Neocon Cheerleader and Apologist on the subject. If you see this POS posting his slime elsewhere on these boards, you''ll know what his true beliefs are by this telling bit. - Reply to this comment
- If this guy was crazy enough to want to be hugged by the criminal that caused his problem, he is as crazy as
Mc Bush who hugged the guy who claimed he had a black baby in the 2000 election fraud event. - Reply to this comment
- ranger;
When I was growing up in Iowa, we ate pig
tongue, pig brains, beef tongue (which is better) chicken feet, pigs feet, head cheese , etc. Most of this kind of stuff was given to a person when they bought a bit higher on the hog.
