- I believe the "same sexes" should be able to have all the rights as married people but they should call it a "civil union".

This will have an effect in November because the America people are tired of Liberals Anger, Hate and making up their minds for them. Democrats have said for years that the American People are too stupid to decide important issues on their own. Thats why the Democrats must own the Congress and Supreme Court. This story says that people voted for the ban and Liberal Courts overturned the BAN. The Liberal Democrats know what America needs, not stupid Aericans. - Once again, we have talking heads bemoaning the failure of the courts to honor the will of the people, noting that 61% of California voters have voted in favor of marriage being legally defined as a union between a man and a woman.
As usual, these pundits fail to understand that we are a constitutional republic specifically to avoid the tyranny of the mob. Laws are tested against the civil constitution to determine if they denigh minorities the rights freely exercised by the majority, and to strike down those that fail to pass this test.
