Well actually prices are going up while we subsidize farmers growing corn for ethanol, but add to that the removal of cheap labor, and boy watch your prices jump sky high, because first of all, Americans won''t do farm labor, so it will have to come from other cheap sources such as import. Second of all, the only people we allow to migrate to this country are doctors and such, so they aren''t about to do the cheap labor either.

and even if the prices did increase a great deal (which they would not), that is fine as long as the illegals left the country. that would result in decreased costs of free schooling, medical, welfare, food stamps, jails, etc. etc. and thus lower taxes.

Since these people are illegal with no documentation, how can there be any documentation regarding the things every american citizen must have? Tax records, *** offender lists etc.? It''s far from the color of skin that is the issue here. First off, the lie is they all work picking fruits and vegetables etc. They also like restaurant work, construction work etc. landscaping, all those things that american citizens could do and would be willing to do, if they were paid enough to afford health care, pay taxes etc.
We aren''t talking about skin color. We are talking about ILLEGAL people, no health care, nothing. I believe if an employer wants to hire mexican labor they should be forced to be fair to mexican laborers.

However, the ability of the illegals to use an antiquated portion of the Constitution (designed to give legality to the descendants of slaves)as a lever to stay in our country must stop. There needs to be a change to that amendment that requires that at least one of your parents (biological) must be a citizen (or in the process of citizenship) in order for the child to receive citizenship. These waddling mamacitas who whelp their litters on our soil HAS GOT TO STOP.

Ok, how many Americans want to pick crops? Most American farms use immigrant labor during harvest season, much of it probably illegal. If they paid American wages and benefits, the price you pay at the supermarket would triple, add to that the increased cost of fuel, and it would have a disastrous effect on our economy! We need real immigration reform, which has to include some kind of guest worker program, because like it or not, our economy depends on low cost immigrant labor

Thieves will come for that too. Easier to sell a human for $2500.oo than it is to bring 2500.oo worth of cocaine across the border and then sell it.

Enforcing the laws is not draconian. Nor does it require extreme measures - penalize businesses that hire illegals harshly - jail time, loss of business license. Most illegals will go home, and fewer will try to come here, without jobs. From there, normal enforcement, checking citizenship on arrest and deport illegals will work just fine.

A sound idea, however it would not work good enough or fast enough.
As long as we continue to allow these anchor babies, and give them benefits, we will have an illegal problem.
However, use of firing squads, guillotines and hangings would set the international (twit) community against us (like they aren''t already). So, the only way I see to fight (legally) illegal immigration, is to cut off these benefit leeches. Even if there is no work for them, they will still come for the entitlements.
Contact your congressman for a change to the Constitution, repeal the 14th amendment. Make it a new amendment that at least one of your parents MUST be a citizen, or be in the legal process of obtaining citizenship, before the child can be considered a citizen (might also help curb these celebrities who want to adopt the third-world babies, they only do it for the publicity)

Do all of you who support draconian methods of rooting out illegal immigrants approve of local sheriff''s stopping vehicles and pedestrians based on the color of their skin? US citizens are being forced to prove their here legally just because they have brown skin. (and no one is addressing the problem of illegal immigration from other world regions, i.e. Asia) I doubt this illegal profiling would be condoned by most of you if they were to require whites to prove their citizenship. We DO have illegal immigrants who have nice pearly white skin.
