you are an idiot. if we followed your "reasoning", we wouldn''t allow anyone to marry until they are 37. do us a favor and READ YOUR OWN COMMENTS and think for half a second BEFORE you post. - Reply to this comment

- This is the year 2008, not the 1800''s or early 1900''s. Yes, years ago girls married at a younger age. The life expectancy was much younger. Times were different and with the natural evoluation of time changes have come about in all societies. In past times 20 was seen as middle age because most did not live past 40. With life expectancy now well into the 80''s a 10 year old should be compared to a 20 year old now. As society changes the laws change. Anyway you look at this laws have been broken. The FLDS want to say the laws of the United States and Texas do not apply to them because of religous freedom. In the United States you have the freedom OF religion and the can BELIEVE anything you want and the government will not interfer with your BELIEF. But by the constitution you can not PRACTICE anything that is against the laws of the United States or the state you live in. So therefore if your religion teaches you that sacrafices of human lives must be made to your god, it is perfectly legal for you to BELIEVE this but it is against the law to PRACTICE this and kill people to make this sacrafice. If your religion teaches you that you must rape girls under the age of 17, it is perfectly legal for you to BELIEVE this but it is against the law in the state of Texas for you to PRACTICE this and rape girls under the age of 17. DOES ANYONE NEED THIS SPELLED OUT TO THEM ANY CLEARER?????

- Do all of these children that are born into the FLDS group (whether in the Texas compound or other compound) have legal birth certificates? If so, who''s name do they put on?? The mother''s or the father''s? I''m willing go guess that there are many children that are undocumented. So how do you prove the age of these people if they don''t have documents?
As for arresting the men? You can be certain that some of them are already in hiding... - Reply to this comment

what state do you live in? I''m sorry you''ve had such bad experiences with CPS. I can''t imagine laws that would allow such actions. But on that note, it is not ok to assume that ALL CPS are like that. I know the one in the state I live in isn''t. That''s like assuming that all tightly knit religeous organizations are like FLDS. - Reply to this comment
- i also know there were times where the counselors were testifying to the cps about sexual abuse on the children, supporting the allegations of mothers...and cps said since the kids were too little, they would close the cases coz the 3 to 6 yr old kids were too young for their testimonies to stand in court..this even afte the children'' counselors testified for the abuse!!!
I also remember a case where they denied tha a dad was abusing his boys sexually, the mother and counselors testified,,,cps still closed the case coz they say that the mom was lieng...and later on the crooked dad commited sucide ,leaving a letter admitting that he abused his boys...this is why i do not trust the cps system..there might be some good workers but very few!!! - Reply to this comment

- abqdoug yes..
why haven''''t they arrested the men yet??? if cps know the girls were impregnanted by the older men??? i guess the know who they are, since they know they are much older right???
or is it just tales??? like the phony call leading to the raid...the FLDS Lawyer said that among the 31 girls 17 of them are older than 18 and cps is lying...
if cps is sure and certain about what they are saying..i wonder what they are waiting to arrest the men??? just curious!!!
are they just saying that to get the public to side with them and to take attention from the fact that they have and is violating the civil rights of these people, constitution of this country and our parental rights??? - Reply to this comment
