When the truckers and trucking companies can no longer afford to operate...

...the goods that we see (and take for granted) on the shelves of the retailers we shop will either become less and less plentiful... OR... more and more expensive!

High fuel costs affects everyone in this country, even the rich. So it''s about time that we find some politicians who will do more to help America than just a measly (temporary) tax cut and expect to see wonders. This is one of many cases where a mere tax cut will NOT do the job, short term or long term!

driver is an idiot expecting anyone but a few head cases to believe the Dems, with just a two vote majority, can change anything. And lets all forget the GOP had total control for the last 7 years leading into this mess.

The "hurt" of this greedy, ONE WORLD ORDER, elite leadership is being felt at the bottom by the poorest and into the middle class working crowd. If any positive actions are to be brought about, those same leaders must be convinced through their pocketbooks or portfolios that it is in their best interests to keep gas prices down. The truckers have a huge role in keeping society running smoothly, but the average citizens have a much greater influence if ALL were on the same page. The law of supply and demand is not setting the gas prices, for any little story printed, can have an affect on price. So, what would happen if millions of gallons of gas just simply was not pumped into trucks or cars over a one week time frame? Do you suppose gas prices would go UP or DOWN? It is way past time for Congress to take some positive action so relief comes to the struggling citizenery....and not the crumbs of the rebates.

How about a windfall profits TAX on oil companies, or nationalize the OIL found underground for all US citizens, or stop exporting oil to Japan?

One passenger circling the Mall held a sign that read "Enough is Enough,"

That''s what we were saying to you born and raised republican truckers all along about this, the most corrupt, administration. Yet, you people wanted to wallow in your ignorance and argue with us about how an administration, you did no research into, was best for this country because they were republican and propaganda radio told you so. Now both you and I are paying for it.

Thanks, now enjoy the consequences.

Who knows, maybe you''ll do your own research by the time November gets here and vote accordingly.

Personally, I don''''t think there is much difference in politicians of any party, but your statement doesn''''t reflect even remotely the reality.

............

Sadly rudy, people like "thgdriver", "jamesm", and the like, are highly illiterate about economics, politics, and history.... yet...

...they walk among us, and worse... they vote. (Which is why we have the current domestic and international mess our government has created).

It''''s been almost two years sinse the democrats took over congress and a barrel of oil was 65 dollars in 2006.

Take a look at what a barrel of oil costs today. The Dimwitocrats did not do shiit but let the price double to 110 dollars a barrel.

After reading statements like that, I already know who is the real dimwit. Most people understand that they haven''t had a real majority that could actually do anything that would override a veto. You need to start thinking for yourself and quit listening to the likes of DIMWITS like Limbaugh, Hannity, and other similar fat azzes. Personally, I don''t think there is much difference in politicians of any party, but your statement doesn''t reflect even remotely the reality.

You can say that again, the public has no idea that all the shelves in the groceries stores will be empty. Wal-Mart will be empty. Sears will be empty. Office supplies will dry up. Best Buy Nothing to sell and on and on and on.

The gas ans diesel tankers stop guess what?? No gas or fuel for your car , truck, No fuel oil to heat your home.

The truckers can bring this country to a halt if they get together. Thing is, they don''t and they wont.

Why should big oil develop an alternative when they have billions in profits, would you?

They don''t explore for oil here because they don''t have to. They pay OPEC it''s price and pass the higher cost onto the consumer. Their profit margin always stays the same or goes up.

By the way, I seem to recall in 2006 the Demwitocrats saying, if elected, they would do something about it.

It''s been almost two years sinse the democrats took over congress and a barrel of oil was 65 dollars in 2006.
