Most Americans Expect To Receive Rebate, Half Plan To Use Money To Pay Bills
- "The checks will arrive six months too late to prevent an economic slowdown, which started back in December, reports CBS News correspondent Anthony Mason. But they could help keep what many economists now say is a recession from getting even worse."
So..Who knew that a mere check of up to 600.00 for one person and 1200.00 for couples plus 300.00 per child in the family--would be enough to carry a laid off family or struggling family through the entire year?
And to think with most people paying over 1000.00/month just in rent and maybe 300.00 to 600.00 in gas per month...that we always thought it would take much more than that.
Congress and Bush should hide their faces--no one needs to see how stupid and full of ******** they all are, right now. LOL - Reply to this comment

"nothing makes you libs happy does it....if you dont want your rebate , give it to your favorite charity...but by all means quit whining.....God, you whine about getting free money...amazing"
is incorrect. It is not free money, it is our money that we earned and the government recieved. It is not and never will be the government''s money, it belongs to the tax payers. - Reply to this comment
- $600.00 or $1,200.00? Why did the people not get those same large tax breaks corporations received from Bush? Or the a tax similar to the tax breaks the very wealthy received from Bush? A 2 family car driving 30 minutes to work each day now spend almost $400.00 per month in gas. That''s were the tax break will go, to big oil and Bush knows it and Congress knows it. What, those 2 people should sell their home and move closer to work? That''s a laugh. Find work closer that pays as well? Another laugh. Republicans do nothing but cause damage, break their own "family value" rules and Deomocrats are weak and too afraid. We are screwed.

- a view from behind bars; my family lost 90% of it''s savings within 6 months of george w bush being elected and since have seen little to no increases in wages. after a lifetime of doing well we are almost destitute...this piddly amount he''s trying to buy favor with is his leagacy to america, DESTRUCTION of the working middle class for the good of the wealthy.

- We are putting ours towards retirement, and our newborn''s towards his education. We happen to be fortunate right now in today''s economy and by living rather frugally always, have some sizeable savings and have absolutely no space in our home to buy something we don''t need. And no, we do not have a flat screen TV. I have never felt watching TV was worth 1600 or 4000 dollars. We still use a regular tube TV that works just fine.
However, for those out there who don''t need it to get by on their mortgage or rent, or for groceries or gas, and plan to spend it, please BUY AMERICAN! It is the only chance this package will remotely work. - Reply to this comment
- Anytime you buy something foreign made, you are actually impact the nation debt and make it more money we owe to foreign governments! Please do not spend any more money at walmart. I use to work for over 3 years as a service manager at walmart, I know first hand that the Walmart Executives are the greediest and worst human beings on the face of the earth. They would make Nazi SS officers blush! The walmart executives wanted Bush relected so they wouldn''t have to pay their 1.5 million people more money per hour! If Juan McCain is elected or empowered to president, i''m leaving the country! American will rise up against the evil goverment if Juan McCain is every even to be thought of as president. Juan McCain needs to move down to Mexico and be president down there since he loves Mexicans so much!

- People! Please DO NOT spend any money at Walmart! The Walmart executives are the biggest contributor to the Bush Administration! Spend the rebate checks to pay off bills early and give yourselves some breathing room. We will need to save with how much gas will cost if people are dumb enough to vote for McCain! Juan McCain would bring more war, more debt, and worst of all, total amnesty for illegals!

- If by "******" you ignorantly mean the Chinese, here is some news, when you buy Chinese made goods at Wal Mart, you only give your money to the importers, that does not impact the debt.

I love Asian girls, they are very beautiful, however, I have to agree that when you buy Chinese made goods at walmart, you are helping towards the national debt. Yes, the money is paid to the importers, but who do you think the importers buy from??? hmmmm - Reply to this comment

"These are nothing more than advances on your return for next year. This is not the first time this has been done."
I disagree. Check out the IRS website. It says the economic stimulus package is not taxable and does not affect in any way 2007 or 2008 taxes. - Reply to this comment
