That negro freshman senator from Chicago says that if the glove doesnt fit, then you must acquit. He doesnt want to see anymore young black men have their lives ruined by doing prison time. And stop bringing up the fact that most blacks who are murdered are victims of black-on-black violence. If this cant be blamed on white racism then better for the media not to discuss it at all. Yall stop your hating.

You start off your post (and all your other ones)with "That negro freshman senator from Chicago," and you finish it with "Yall stop your hating." Even someone as obviously ignorant as you must see the irony here.

whatithink-You''re right Blacks did not invent violence but their is little sign of it relenting in black communities. I blame the leaders whether that is a music band, church pastor or community leader. You can look at black communities in Africa, some are very peaceful caring and others are very violent. So I know Black communities could be so much more. Throwing money at the problem sure doesn%u2019t seem to solve the problem and by the way welfare was reformed after 1996 and white families felt the pinch too or did you assume all whites are rich and are never oppressed.

louiville2,

Additionally, you call it their music when 70% of their music is bought by white males and the industry that created this music is not black. If you look at the music BEFORE it become a wealth making vehicle (before those who made the music lost control) you will not see so much violence.

louiville2,

Tell me a time in the history of African Americans being in America that violence was not used against African Americans? You act as though violence was created by African Americans against African Americans. 300 years of violence will not resolve itself completely in 40 years.

You should check out the book Without Sanctuary via Amazon. This violence was not created by black music or black churches or black leaders.

The number one killer of young black men is other young black men, not the same for white communities.

From a systemic culture of violence, in their music, churches and leaders. The answer is and will always be is having Black men take responsibility for their lives and those they bring into this world and stop the victim mentality.

louiville2,

You keep bringing up a massive amount of garbage. This country is violent. Look at what we do when someone makes us mad. We invade countries and drop 500-lb bombs on people. Look at the movies. Arnie shots up people in primetime. The inner cities do not have the luxury of hiding their sins behind nice picket fences. What you see in the inner cities is raw, but it is a reflection on OUR entire culture.

Personally, I''m non-violent...I view weapons as I do any other tool...I don''t even hunt any more...but I know from experience in law enforcement that the police are not there to protect you...save in extreme circumstances...they usually end up at the crime scene to write the report...just like at the scene of a car accident. We used to replace the bullets of citizens who fired at criminals...I remember one old man with cataracts who fired at a burglar who jumped right through a window to get away...we would never have been there to save him...we would have found him beaten or dead.

Keep your guns! Know how to use them! Don''t surrender your rights for some illusory promise of security. Never trust the government...I shouldn''t have to tell this to a people who were told over 935 lies to get them to murder innocent people in Iraq... nothing sinks in with Americans...who have replaced the love of Constitution and Republic with the love of a rag on a stick and blind obedience to any who waves it before their eyes and says..."Sic''em!"

tracy9morgan,

Most whites are killed in white-on-white crimes as well. Just a question. When a white person kills another white person do you also bring up the "thems" and "theys"? I don''t think so.

Prinzowhales,

Good points. Also, some of the people who go in for non-violent crimes come out violent. I remember reading about someone who was put into prison for using pot and came out of prison addicted to heroin.

whatithink-25% "of the world''''s prison population is in the U.S. because some Americans think prison is the solution. It''''s nice as a political gimic. It doesn''''t fix the problem, however. This problem is the same as someone who overeats for 50 years and then looks for a magic pill to make the fat go away in a week."

And your answer is...? Counseling (tried), intervention (tried that two), Change their culture of violence (tried but failed because of liberals (ACLU) not wanting to change someone%u2019s culture for god%u2019s sake, even if their culture is killing others.)

ElCantante1--The point is the question...WHY is America such a violent society?

whatithink--Paradoxically, the system releases the most violent offenders early while leaving the non-violent offenders in jail...particularly those who use pot and cause no harm to others. The violent crimes are used to justify the increase in the numbers of police who can be used to protect the Corporatists. If this were not enough, the plan is for 10% of college graduates to become useless eaters in Homeland Security related jobs.

"As public schools lose funding from debt-ridden state budgets, school administrators are being forced to cut "non-essentials" such as language programs."

This problem is only going to get worse and it has NOTHING to do with any policies from the 1960s. These are policies started in 1980s and supported throught the 2000s. It''s called TRICKLE-DOWN ECONOMICS. The only thing that trickles is the ....

ElCantante1,

The Swiss are discussing changing their laws because there have been some incidents there as well. A guy, for example, broke into the parliment building and killed a bunch of people.

Reddesires,

Maybe we shouldn''t be surprised, but we should have a bit more compassion and if we know there is a problem, why just let it happen?
