csta0421: go peddle you racist views somewhere else. The girls in both stories were of multiple race origins, not all white, hispanic or otherwise. This isn''t about race, its about the breakdown in kids ability to feel sympathy or empathy. These kids are little sociopaths. Too many parents saying ''my kid, right or wrong'' with no consequences for bad behavior or choices. Too often you see the parents interviewed and they have all kinds of excuses for their child''s actions. Personal responsibility is lost of too many children. But it has nothing to do with race. And when are we going to wake up and accept that violent tv and video games are numbing our children to violence and anti-social behavior?

Just don''t understand how kids think this whack job behavior is cool! Is this what children do now...talk about how they can beat somebody up for kicks and videotape it?

Lock them up in a cell for 30 days with no tv, and nothing else but a book on the Constitutional rights of others and tell them to get out they''re going to have to recite it ver batim from cover to cover!

Geezus!

The real sick thing in this story is why it makes national news on CBS. Why don''t we hear about how our War Criminal President keeps on bombing Shiite neighborhoods. Hundreds of thousands have been murdered in the Bush War.

The Bush War is based on deliberate WMD LIES. We are there for the OIL and to build BILLION dollar permanent US military bases and embassy.

There is no Exit Strategy because the strategy is for a permanent occupation.

FIGURE IT OUT. JAIL BUSH and CHENEY for their War Crimes.

These girls lured this girl there, they are the ones who assaulted her with rocks. Being confronted by a group may have made it necessary for her to defend herself first. Since they instigated the incident they are responsible. If i lured you to an alley with intent of beatingyou and you punched first because you thought you needed to to escape i would still be liable for instigating the attack and using a rock is a deadly instrument so this jumoped the case from simple assault to attempted murder.

This is outrageous behavior that cannot and should not be tolerated. Too many times do I hear about how "Kids are just violent." This is not violent. This is brutality and clearly against the law. The trouble is that most people are content to turn a blind eye because it didn''t happen to them. I say its time that those of us who care start organizing ourselves and putting an end to problems like this, nevermind the never ending laundry list of other problems. If tolerance of this behavior is the will of the people, it''s time to take that will away. Freedom is something we should earn. And these girls, their parents, and anyone who condones their behavior, do not deserve free will.

Since she was lured to the alley and yes it can happen, children don''''t always use good judgement and are more trusting than adults, so this beating was premeditated. With the other girl using rocks this escalates the charges to attempted murder. A rock is a deadly weapon. Maybe she felt she had to throw the firsst punch to protect herself. You weren;t there so you do not know.

Wrong.
The girl that got punched first did not have the weapon in hand as you seem to imply.
Those two factors will count for something during the judgement of this case.

Yes you missed something. his is not normal behavior. Rocks are deadly weapons. I hope these girls are charged with appropriate crimes and removed from their parents care, obvioulsy their parents didn''t do a very good job of raising them.
