Brian;

You are exactly correct, Prescott Bush was not only charged under the "Trading With The Enemy Act," but found guilty. Also the bank that he managed for Brown Brothers Harriman was confiscated. Under the Trading with the Enemy Act, the government took over the Union Banking Corporation, in which Bush was a director. The U.S. Alien Property Custodian seized Union Banking Corp.''s stock shares, all of which were owned by Prescott Bush, E. Roland `` Bunny '''' Harriman, three Nazi executives, and two other associates of Bush.

The only thing the pope and the church are mad about is the fact the abuse by priests came out into the light of day. They''ve always known about it but covered it up very well. They even convince parents to cover it up by saying we will handle it while the ship the priest/bishop etc off to another place where he can abuse more children.

Probably 50% of priests are homosexual, 25% are pedophiles and the rest are very frustrated.

Ummmm, this Pope was one of the ones that handled it by moving the offenders to other churchs and hiding the facts. Now he is sorry because he was found out. He sounds like a Republican.

"Badly handled" is not an accurate description of the way the Roman Catholic Church handled the clergy who violated defenseless children. "Covered up," "Refused to accept responsibility," "Believed they were so powerful that no one could stop/catch them," might be more accurate. The healing would begin if the Church in Rome took full responsiblity for the way some of their clergy conducted themselves. I fear this will never happen because it would financially break them... and so what we see and hear is a pathetic minimization of a practice that is the antithesis of Christianity.

Six months ago, brianbwb couldn''t even spell "engineer" and now he is one.

And he wonders why increasing numbers of people reject his opinions.

There is a difference between homosexuality and pedophilia. I wish you Catholics would stop using homosexuality as an excuse for sick men who molest children. Grow up Catholics and get with the program!!!!!

Where was the condemnation of these perverts who molest children?

And blaming the molestation of kids by priests as being the fault of Americans having pornography in the house?

This pope is clearly out of touch with reality and is a disgrace.

Or maybe that a$$hole is a pervert himself.

The only thing badly handled were the children. The only thing they are "embarrassed" about is the fact they got caught. Are we really suppposed to believe that priests abusing kids only happened in the USA? I want to see what they''ve done in every country on the globe, for years and years. I''ll bet the screams of children still echo in churches everywhere.

The son of a "Hitler Youth" junior Nazi, exchanging pleasantries with the grandson of the man who sold fuel to the Nazis, and has, by repeating the crimes of Hitler''s Germany on yet another Semite group, has cemented his place as the first of the 21st centuries "uber"- criminals.

And they wonder why increasing numbers of people reject religion.

Another thing these half-wit Christians fail to realize is that they do not define the word religion. Its common use and the world define the word religion. And according to the vast majority of the world - including many Christians - Christianity is a religion. In Germany, when you register for taxes the ask you your religion and you have a choice of marking "Christe." Idiotic propaganda this "Christianity is not a religion" BS - pathetic attempt to say that somehow they are special. Who do these puny brains think they are fooling?

And nowhere does Christ EVER ask us to follow a "religion".

Being a Christian is about having a RELATIONSHIP with your CREATOR. It''''s about having a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Lord.

It has absolutely nothing to do with "religion".

- What planet do you live on. You need to create your own dictionary. Do you have any idea how stupid and absurd that sounds? Even many versions of the Bible use the word religion:

"But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God."

You have a tiny little religious brain and a high school education.

Pope criticises US bishops
Posted 1 hour 10 minutes ago

Pope Benedict has criticised American bishops for their handling of child *** scandals that have rocked the Catholic Church in the United States.

His second statement on the issue in two days is unlikely to please victims'' groups because the Pope partially blamed the problem on a breakdown of values in American society.

Speaking at the National Shrine in Washington, he also praised the American clergy for its efforts to heal the damage.

Posted on the ABC national news Australia.

Take note of the second and third para''s.

Nah. Religion is the necessary interpreting of what God/Christ wants people to do. Granted, the Gospel offers plenty of hints about what ''Jesus would do'' in particular situations, but Christianity is the interpretation of what Jesus meant, applied to our lives, today. That interpretation is necessary to our society, but (as with our government, also necessary) needs to be taken with a grain of salt and with careful attention for the all-too-human desire for embellishment and predation.

My take on child-rearing (for no reason other than I''m tired):

First 10 years: you''re their MENTOR. Teach them what they need to know cuz they''re hanging on your every word.

Second 10 years: you''re their COACH. Direct them toward the fullest, best expression of THEIR particular skill-set (NOT yours).

After age 20: you aint NOTHING but a CHEERLEADER. Whatever stupid decision they make, stand at the sidelines and scream, ''Jesse, Jesse, he''s our man, if he can''t do it...NO ONE CAN''. Cuz they''re going to need that support! They don''t need you second-guessing their grown-up decisions, they''ll learn more by their own mistakes. And you can''t live their lives for them.

hinted that Benedict brought up his concerns about the damage caused by punitive immigration laws. "

Well MAYBE Benedict Arnold should make provisions to take those imigrants into the VATICAN- put his mouth where his riches are.

" Catholics are really good people". Oh! Really?
I doubt that there is any adult member of that cult that did not know of someone who was abused by their sick clergy.

Johnesm123 You sound like a heartfelt person and those are all good questions. I''d be the last one to say I knew the answer. I do know that you are right and we need to find a way to protect our children better. The problem in the Catholic Church was very large but they are far from the only guilty party. Where does it happen the most? The answer is right at home. Did you know that? We need to address this issue better as a society and a nation. How? By communities working within themselves to understand the problem, its scope and coming up with comprehensive solutions.

All this time, for years the church has know what their priest were doing & noone did anything. How long are they going to speak about this matter before doing something about it.

It saddens me when I here these things and I believe the US is to lenient on violent criminals.

Corrupting the morals & violating a child no matter how it was done it is the most terrible crime of all.

It doesn''t seem to be hitting a core with the Justice Department, I ask Why?

Why does a *** Offender that has an abundance of money get 2 months in jail and serve the rest of his time in House Arrest. Do you think this is fair?

The abusers are also getting younger, what is this telling us. The abusers are also going to school, fitting right in with their peers going unnoticed.

We have to do something before all of our children are victims of society, abusers & Justice Dept.

If you need help go get it don''t hurt innocent children
