Here%u2019s a quote from this article - %u201C%u201DThe sect practices polygamy in arranged marriages between underage girls and older men.%u201D%u201D How do you people think CBS can publish this statement without worrying about getting sued by FLDS? Because it%u2019s true!! And everybody knows it except the easily led conspiracy theorists.

Porchhound- This is directly from an abcnews article and I think it speaks volumes: %u201CBut, asked whether any girls in the sect had married older men when they were younger than 16, the women interviewed by ABC News declined to answer.%u201DNobody is forced into anything," was all that a woman who identified herself as Mary would say.%u201D ---Folks, there is a reason why there have been no denials from ANYBODY affiliated with this group regarding underage girls bearing children to older men. The reason is it%u2019s true! They will not deny it because the state has all their girls in custody and it%u2019s only a matter of time until they figure out how many under the age of 16 are now pregnant or have children already. It%u2019s easier for them to complain about freedom of religion and persecution because they know they are absolutely guilty as charged.

Man the pictures I''ve seen of the women and young children from the gated community looks like they couldn''t be guilty of anything,,not even littering. They seem to have been on the right track for a long time. These people have to face tanks outside their homes? I don''t care what the old perverts did, if they find out that is even true, send all the children and the mothers home.
This sounds like a Janet Reno sick plan of some kind. She invented a new kind of abuse..SRA or satanic ritual abuse. Children became so co-erced and confused they were making statements about flying away in spaceships.
This is wrong, this is a lie from the beginning to the end. It takes tanks to bring in women and children??

YOU MORALIZERS on here don''t deserve to live in a free nation where individual rights are protected and "due process" is part of our judicial system. NOTHING HAS BEEN PROVEN and now we know the intial call was a hoax...where does that leave CPS now??? Writing a huge check to these families of course. Save your sermons for those rare occasions when you are actually on the right side of the issue...there never was ANY EVIDENCE that underage children were getting pregnant or forced into marriage...you bought the whole CPS bag of Texas BS and passed iton. You have been duped. We will discover that the woman writing and selling the book who just happened to get on Katie Couric''s show a few days before these calls were made was the actual hoax caller...wait and see!!

CALL TO TEXAS CHILD WELFARE WAS MULTI_STATE HOAX!! An almost identical call to Arizona CPS was made the same week by a "16 yr old girl" claiming abuse by the FLDS sect...read how Az handled the issue: http://www.azcentral.com/news/articles/2008/04/11/20080411cps0411.html

I was so upset to watch news and listen to Katie Couric refer to the, "FLDS church" as "Fundamentalist Mormons". My church, "The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" is refered to as the Mormons. This Fundamentalist church is not the Mormon Church. If you want to know what THE Mormon church believes in , go to LDS.org. The Church reiterated on Sunday (6 April) that it has no affiliation whatever with the Texas-based sect that has been subject to investigation by state law enforcement officers and child protective services in recent days, and whose leader, Warren Jeffs, was jailed in 2006.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints discontinued polygamy officially in 1890. More than a century later, some news reports, especially those outside the U.S., still fail to draw clear distinctions whenever stories arise about polygamy in the Intermountain West. But Elder Ballard said that Latter-day Saints are still offended when elementary mistakes are made in the news media or when printed or posted photographs fail to make the distinction between the Church and the polygamous groups. %u201CYou would think that after over 100 years, media organizations would understand the difference,%u201D he said. %u201CYou can%u2019t blame the public for being confused when some of those reporting on these stories keep getting them wrong.%u201D

Hey cpaide, you''re obviously not reading any of the posts here are you? especially those from minnick8. Even I, a fervent despiser of oppressive bureaucracies, am beginning to think that the Texas CPS might have some justification for its seemingly excessive actions
